OK, so received the email about this 'wonderful' service. Since it caught me when I had nothing better to do I watched the video and took the 'test'. Passed. YOU ARE APPROVED. Yay, me? Anyway, just curious does 'assist' display on the driving preference page?
I was hanging at starbucks today (no pings) and decided to call support and ask why it wasn't showing. Person could barely speak English, but I managed to convince her of my question. After several on hold periods her answer was it doesn't display, it is just part of X. Hum, ok buh bye. Rated the call with a sad face.

Anyway, just curious if the puppy displays or not.

I am a qualified Uber Assist driver also. No increase in rate but it will increase your community service self esteem.

yeah, I saw that. Same rate as X. Does Assist display on your driving preference page?
I drive 'on spectrum' kids via HopSkipDrive, and although the pay is more, it still gives me a better feeling than Uber pax do. I figure assist would be the same....maybe....I don't mind helping.

Better chance of receiving tips but it can be a lot of work and will slow you down. Assist ride will show on your screen like pool does.

I don't do RS for $$. Break even and I'm good. I do it for the schedule. Prior to RS spent my time at my son's school; mostly on the playground be chased by grader schools, who seem to live for tag. Once son got to middleschool volunteer gigs when cold turkey. So RS it was.
And, to me, tips are xmas morning and treated as such when they come. I don't obsess when they don't.

It didn't use to but I haven't driven since Nov. 2018.

I opted out of Assist a few years ago. It seemed I was the only driver doing it as I was always getting pinged from far away. 90% of the time, it was an X rider that didn’t know they ordered Assist. They would be annoyed for the long wait, which would hurt my rating.

Assist does not display as separate, unfortunately. On one of my cars I get assist pings but not the other. talking in circles with email support, phone support, and green light hub, I had no success. I do not even appear on the map for assist in my 2014 car, only for my 2007 car.

Assist means extra rides in slow times but only hurts my acceptance rate in busy times. In busy times they always seem to be 10-20 min eta rides with no long pickup fee.

ok, that confirms what support lady told me. It is just 'there' under X. Just one more thing to try and find on the full info ping.....
