It's Monday morning and I planned on working early to get some hours in before going home and waiting for a UPS package scheduled to be delivered today.
So I'm out on the road and the first pax was from Tustin to Irvine, dropped him off at work. The second pax was Tustin to SNA, and after that drop off, the Uber app decides to provide a mysterious NULL= ( ) ...something... crazy computer code which tells me something is going on with the computers again at the mothership and I can't close out the ride. I tried 2-3 times, then power cycled my cell and only then could I close it out.
OK, now the fun part. I get the 3rd ping of the morning, and I take it, but Waze is not connecting to the Uber app. I use the Uber app map on the phone to navigate to the pin and pick-up address and it's a range of addresses so I have to find the pick-up which is across the street from the address he gave. And he wants to be dropped off at LGB but he again entered a range of addresses for the drop off (Question: Is this a joke? If we Uber drivers are not supposed to go to LGB, then why can the rider choose it? Is this the work around??) and I tell him I can't drop off at LGB, no Uber drivers can drop off at LGB or they risk getting a ticket. He's like, all the other Uber drivers have done it. I should have drove away. But no, I caved to peer pressure and I drove the guy to LGB and on the way, moving out of the HOV lane on the 405N, a white Prius was in my blind spot then rushed by in what I thought was an opening for me to change lanes and I tagged his driver side rear fender with my tire.
So the pax is freaking out because he's going to miss his flight, and all I want to do is drop him off and then trade info with the Prius driver, so we go to the cell phone lot and exchange info. And that was my Monday morning, folks.
