A lot has been posted regarding the true costs of being an Uber driver. Vehicle maintainence, self-employment taxes, etc. One cost I have never seen mentioned is the bandwidth required to run the Uber app.
Anytime you are logged on (driving or waiting) there is a constant data stream to your cell phone feeding the app. And most of the time it won't be WiFi.
How significant is this? I know everybody drives different amounts, but how many Gigs a month are we talking here? Has anyone calculated bandwidth per hour of app use? As a driver, did you see your cell phone bill go way up?
