I agree that, if ride share is your only form of income. That does make it a bit tricky.
I see rideshare as a business that works for some and not for others.
Riders who read this forum or other uber forums, some times like to give answers to peoples questions, by giving a blanket answer like... uber sucks. That don't pay enough. You can't make money doing this job. That type of answer does not provide helpful advice. Maybe uber does suck. But that's not the answer every driver needs to hear. It does suck that pay is low. I say Uber does suck at what they do. And don't do. But they are like most companies.
Those that watch the Ride Share guy on you tube, will know that Jay is one of the Ride share guys contributors. Jay makes 90K a year driving for uber and left. Yes, that's in San Francisco, I know. But the equivalent amount here in the twin cities, would be around 60K to 70K. I'm guessing on that number.
Every driver will have unique situations to deal with when deciding to drive or quit. One driver might drive at a time and area conducive to making money. While another driver that works that same area makes bupkis, because he drives different times of the same day. Does not provide the same services that the first driver does.
So many of the drivers covet their knowledge and locations like a fisherman on a lake. I wish more drivers shared their knowledge in a way that was helpful and productive. Knowone says you have to give out every detail.
If a driver were to post or tell everyone, where to be on specific day and time. Because that area is hot at those times. That driver works that area and can make $45 per hour each time. That driver would not see a decrease in his income just because he gave out some of his or her knowledge. There are way to many variables as well as those besky algorithms in the app, that needs to be added to the equation. And those drivers who did invade that hot area, will soon quite, leave the area because for them it's not working.
I know there are many successful drivers out there. Those that struggle need guidance, instruction on what to do better, as well as what you need to do diffrent And I will acknowledge that there is a percentage of drivers that need to quit. Their terrible drivers, with the wrong kind of upbringing. Their cars stink. With shit allover the car. Many don't speak English, which creates communication issues between driver and rider. That's on them. And a good portion of drivers are not employable. They lack the education needed to survive in other types of work.
Those that don't understand what I'm saying or implying in this Post, unfortunately, are the drivers that dont get it, or understand it. When you don't get it...you don't get it. I could explain it differently... but they don't get it.
WHAT to reply? Bring it on...
