I guess they are called "stacked trip requests" but I have had a couple in the past two weeks and I was wondering if this was implemented in San Diego? Both happened in the gaslamp, where I was still driving my passengers to their destination and a new trip request from someone random appeared (along with the strobe light effect my phone prominently radiates). I thought that maybe the passengers had been to a different city and selected that option and for some reason it slipped by the SD network, but they had no clue. I was just wondering if this is a thing now, and/or what is the proper way to respond in that situation? I'm assuming you accept the new request, finish the one you are currently doing, and then head to the pinpoint.. but is that feature one where you accept the new request and pick them up addition to your current passengers as a kind of car-pool?

So when this "stack" happens, the passenger I am currently driving will have to also accept the ping? I had a similar scenario last night as I was dropping someone off in gaslamp and the orange box appeared on my navigation surrounding the downtown area. I was wondering if anybody knows if that means I was available for this stacking process or just some sort of glitch?

Uber sent me an email yesterday that answered all my questions lol thank you though for all your input and help, really appreciate that!

An exciting update to trip requests is coming, designed to help you complete more trips and increase earnings. You can now accept your next trip request even when you're already on a trip.

How It Works

Now you'll get requests for trips that start nearby your current rider's dropoff location before the trip is over. Skip the wait and accept upcoming trips so you can go straight to your next ride.

How It Looks
While on a trip, you'll get a notification to accept your next request. After accepting, the screen will go back to the current trip to help avoid confusion.

Thank you for your partnership,
