The ACT Government is extending the trial of revised rules for bicycles on pedestrian crossings for another two years.

During the extended trial, cyclists may use all pedestrian crossings in the ACT without dismounting. In so doing, the cyclist must not exceed 10 kilometres per hour.

Have no problem with cyclists not dismounting but would be nice if they did keep to the 10km/h limit and maybe slow down a bit when they reach it? Had a passenger remark how cyclists wouldn’t think of riding through a pedestrian crossing so carelessly back in Perth after a cyclist sped through one right in front of us. Must of have been going quite a bit over 20km/h and came out of nowhere, the passenger didn’t even realise why I braked until the cyclist rode past.
