I think I've done my it today. Sent two gentlemen to CBD, we were 1 turn away from the destination, they came out with the idea to get off from my car while I was waiting for traffic light....

Nothing I can do. They opened the door, and walked. I guess a fine is on my way...

if they get run over by a bus/truck/car for getting out it more than a fine. A few years at the finest holiday resort jail Australia can offer :D

Last driver that let a rider out on the road he got squashed flat by a bus in Sydney and serving time in jail right now.

Uber driver charged after passenger killed by a bus in Sydney CBD

An Uber driver has been charged over the death of a passenger in Sydney this year.

The 30-year-old passenger was hit by a bus and killed in Elizabeth Street in the early hours of Saturday, June 17.

Police allege the man got out of the car at a set of traffic lights near Bathurst Street and then fell into the path of a bus when the car accelerated away.

Emergency services were called, but the man died at the scene.

Can't wait for the jails to be filled up with Uber drivers killing riders :D:oops:

Uber driver pleads not guilty over death of passenger who was hit by bus

An Uber driver has pleaded not guilty over the death of a passenger in Sydney last year.

Nazrul Islam, 31, was charged with negligent driving occasioning death after a 30-year-old man was hit and killed by a bus in Sydney's CBD in June 2017.

For anyone else thinking about throwing riders out on the road with traffic or at traffic light... If they get run over expect the charge of negligent driving occasioning death ;) Not only do you rack up tens of thousand of dollars in legal cost on top of the bail money for not spending time in jail while the process court hearings  It pretty big deal in Australia.

I have had this happen to me a few times and not been fined.

Pax will often try to get out of the car in situations like this and I usually have enough time to say "please wait until I'm in a safe location" however sometimes they are in a rush and go anyway. Dick move on their part but I can't tie them down, can I?

Generally don't stress too much about fines in the CBD - unless police are there with nothing better to do or someone takes the time to report you, it is highly unlikely that you will be fined in the CBD unless you do something very stupid.

Dude, set your car to lock when in Drive if you have auto and unlock only in park.
Guy did exactly the same in Sydney last year got collected by BUS.
Nothing that driver could do.
Always tell them I stop at legal spots no matter how far from drop off point is.

I'm struggling to think of any offence YOU would have committed.

The driver in Sydney got charged because he took off with the guy half out of the car.

The police believe that a contributing factor was that he was severely fatigued and hence negligent.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets off tbh.
