Drove all night Friday and most of day Saturday. The traffic seemed to be overly busy the whole time. Seemed like everywhere you went it took a lot longer to get there. Was I just imagining this or did it seem crazy for everyone else?

What was going on with the new construction projects going on Saturday? Seemed like late Friday night several new projects started downtown that continued into Saturday. Who decided Saturday was a good morning to dig a big hole in the middle of Michigan at Oak street. That was a nightmare coming off LSD to Michigan. How about the obstacle course the put up on Grand? There are no way all those barricades lasted Saturday evening. Did anyone else notice all the projects going on Saturday?

Whereas, I agree seemingly random innocuous contruction in center field pounds the wound. I suggest that Saturday city gridlock in this neck of the woods is par.

Therefore, mix it up a bit. Start way out yonder and DF it in, hitch the b sideways. Dance with two trailer park girls round the outside.

Don't go insane doing the same damn thang.

How long have you been in Chicago? Chicago is known for doing all kinds of construction projects all year round. They tear up the streets, take months to do what should only take days or weeks and then wait 3 months before they tear it all up again. Typical Chicago politics.

True Chicagoans have two seasons. Winter season and construction season. On a serious note. Asphalt and concrete plants close at the end of November (pending temps.) So the big rush is on now to complete or stabalize projects till springtime.

True Chocagoans know that there is no such thing as "construction season" in Chicago. Chicago is notorious for ripping and tearing up streets all year long. They'll tear up streets and start construction projects just before winter with no intention of finishing them, they don't care about the people that are inconvenienced by their stupid decisions, I've seen them tear up entire stretches of main road and leave them sit all winter with no work ever being done. He'll...ever during the summer months they barely get any real work done.

Was up there for the offspring concert and engagement pics in various spots friday & saturday. I thoufht it was the lightest traffic for a weekend compared to the last 2-3 months or so. Couldnt believe how dead it was

I noticed more traffic over the weekend and that's why I quit both days when the buildups started.
