It was a little experiment. Both were minimum fares, about a mile each. Each ride was $6.80. Driver payout was close to $5.50 which matches UberX. Both drivers were new with Uber (less than 2 months each). One drove a Lexus, the other a Camry. Lexus driver spoke English well, car was a bit dirty and his rating was 4.81. No water, no candy, no tissues. Camry driver didn't speak English that well, car was very clean, tissues, candy and water bottles were placed in between front seats. His rating was 4.7. Both men drove safely. You be the judge of why their ratings were so different.
P.S. Of course I tipped both drivers well and gave them 5 star ratings.
