I'm moving from Phoenix to Dallas, and in Dallas I've noticed there are a lot of toll roads. We don't have those here in Phoenix, so I'm wondering how the reimbursement works.

Where do I get the E-Pass to automatically move through? How much is it? It looks like there are a couple different types of passes in Texas, the TxTag and another type of toll pass. Which one is the cheapest?

I searched the forums, and most people were concerned with reimbursement. I couldn't find anything on the actual process of getting a Toll Pass.

Thank you!

Lol. Uberdummy is correct. However it would be simpler to visit an NTTA office, of which there are many. They will give you a windshield decal connecting your vehicle to your credit card. I think they charge you 20.00 per vehicle upfront, which is used to pay your occurring charges. When you get close to a 5.00 balance the cycle repeats itself. I only drive Lyft, and they are pretty good about the fees, but not so good that I don’t double check, especially the Texpress lanes. Good luck.

Oldtimers like me that have had a "Tolltag" since the opening of the North Dallas Tollway aren't charged until $40.00 in tolls are accrued. The billing cycle is repeated again after the next $40.00 in tolls are accrued.

When you balance hits $10 is when they ding you for another $40.

Here is how reimbursements work:

1. Get the toll tag
2. Drive around for Uber
3. Take tolls roads and Express lanes (there is a difference) if it's gonna save you time or the rider is hell bent on a specific route
4. Take mental note of the tolls being charged
5. End trip and verify if tolls were added to the trip (see #4)
6. If tolls are not added or incorrect (Express lanes are never automatically added since they are dynamic - See #4 again), send a ticket into Uber
7. Open trip, help, issue with fare, issue with toll
8. Add $1 Surcharge to all toll reimbursements (I call this the having to deal with support fee)

Take off ur plate & use a phony paper tag. It's not like cops will run ur plate in dallas traffic.

Avoid collin county though, 3 tollways 1 freeway, cops everywhere.
