Seems there is no way of avoiding the strip area, until starting with uber that's what our family did. Wondering what your thoughts are on asking for passenger patience while you try your best to navigate the strip area. There is a lot to learn, and I really want to learn it, obviously before my rating slips into the toilet.

Stay off the strip, let the professionals deal with it, dont need any weekend warriors trying to be real drivers

I tried that, staying in Henderson, but 6 out of 8 of my jobs brought me there. I'm guessing there is no real way of avoiding it, after all.

The only way to learn is to drive the area on your own time, download the hotel drop/pickup list (it's in this forum) and find each one. If you use Waze, you can set each location as a favorite (again, in this forum) to find it easier the next time. Without knowing in advance you'll run up fares being "lost", get horrible ratings and potentially get deactivated.

The ones that has been with the same job over 15 years a real job not a slave driver
"Real Job"? Are you getting a pension? 401k match? Is that the real job you're talking about? Or just a Joe like the rest of us that make money hand over fist for someone else. I know it's a humble brag when you tell us you get a new car every six months, but let's face it, you park a 2012 in your garage.

I've gotten lost, made U-turns in parking garages, missed a few turns. My rating is fine. If you apologize when you make a mistake and your ride is nice and clean then that's how you're rated.

Also, explore the strip after you drop-off instead of hightailing it to the I-15. Navigate the back roads a little while you wait for a ping. Take down the Uber sign and explore all the casino pickup areas. You can even drive in circles at the Aria main entrance until the crazy lady has an aneurysm. There is fun to be had!

I'm a bit nicer than the other dude. Yes, I have a 401k with a match from my taxi company.

It is just a job man.

It takes time - and you need to make the effort on your own to learn the ways. Even though there is a very good resource here on specific drop areas, there is no replacement for actually practicing (no trade dress) the routes. If you can (using common sense), verify drop-off and pickup locations with property staff (valet, doorman). Never go in the taxi line and never block traffic in the main entrance.

PS: if you can not laugh along with the taxi drivers who frequent these forums, there is an ignore function that you can use. Most of the time there is wisdom in their (sometimes sarcastic) words.

Drive a cab then not a wanna be taxi driver
Just ignore this TAXI Driver. Like I said yesterday, their time is very limited as soon enough TAXI drivers will be absolete...passengers don't like them cause they reek, they have the worst personality, worst customer service and they're just that will never be anythinhg but a TAXI driver. This is their profession, like this guy, I think he's been TAXI driving for 15 years...probably don't have to do anything else but driving. TAXI DRIVERS.

What's wrong with having the trade dress up with 'practicing'? Is there some rule against driving with it up while app off? (genuinely curious, because I usually don't bother taking them down)

It is your first amendment right to display whatever you want in your window. That said, the hotels might be more patient with you if they don't see the logo while you're driving around.
