American drivers seems to get better tips. Uber's policy is the same in both countries: "Tipping unnecessary and not supported in App". Begging might get you deactivated.

Would some of the techniques used by American drivers work in the UK? Americans primarily use "tasteful" tipping signs. The types of signs include: simple paper, headrest covers, tipping jars, LED strips and Tablets. Detailed descriptions with comparisons and examples appear in

Sometimes a PAX states a desire to tip, but claims a lack of cash or a lack of small denomination bills. Would any of the solutions (some cashless) used by Americans work in the UK?
  • Keep change for large denomination bills in your car.
  • For tech-savvy PAX, setup your own Google Wallet account at https://www.google.co.uk/wallet
  • Venmo may not currently be in the UK, but there are alternatives including Tilt, Zapp, and https://www.vocalink.com/mobile-payments/
  • Square can accept any credit card and is therefore the most versatile. Square takes a small percentage, but the reader is free https://squareup.com/get-a-reader
  • Some drivers connect a Square Reader to a tablet, which displays step-by-step instructions. The tablet may either used a "data-only" plan or be "tethered" to a cell phone, eliminating extra connection fees.
For more on Square in the UK see https://techcrunch.com/2016/07/20/squareup-uk/
Both the propriety and effectiveness are being discussed to raise or lower a PAX rating based on tips.

When a customer wants to give a tip they do
If they don't tip you it's because they don't
Simple.
You don't need to start begging that's sad.

If uber cares enough about drivers they should add a big tip btn on thier app with 1, 5 ,10 , 20 % options and not charge drivers commission on it

The lady says not handling cash means you won't get mugged!...
Tell the cheapskate that to "protect your passengers", you have gone cashless with your Square reader and can now accept all major credit cards for tips.

How cool is that for brainwashing the slaves!
Now you know it's safer for you not to be tipped.
She has tin of "doodoo's on seat.
Come on all you Cabbies, you know after watching this very honest @ upfront Uber video that you'd love to cross the threshold and sign up to take some pool & airport trips with the lovely generous customers.

You'll soon manage to forget the tips once you start collecting all the 5 star ratings after dishing out Evian water, mints, sweeties etc

Job satisfaction is what it's all about guys!

Travis is our King & glorious leader.............. (and I've just had my first round of brainwashing)
