Brilliant! Exactly what I have been saying. I have said before there is this myth that Uber drivers are making lots of money. As noted in the video how could anyone believe that given the ridiculously low rates. I've had some enlightened drivers tell me they know we're getting Screwbered and tip me well. I went o Orlando a few weeks ago on a family vacation and my friend and I Ubered around on a pub crawl one night. It was very interesting for me because it was my first experience as a "Rider" . Everyone that we drove with was people down on their luck. Out of work. laid offed, older people, one school teacher who was trying to get some extra cash during summer break . No one was happy with driving and their rates are wore than NOLA. Interesting thing is they all had very nice cars . I suspect that eventually drivers will realize it is indeed a losing proposition. For me I don't drive that much, am not desperate and it has become like a hobby for me.

I'll probably get in trouble for saying this, but I'm thankful for the Baton Rouge protests and all this racism that's been going on lately.

That's the one thing that's keeping me off the road. I don't want to end up taking people to and from the protest and putting my life in danger for a few pennies a mile.

Heard about those kids broke into a pawn shop in Baton Rouge ?

Then the one they caught in the store says that. To a cop.

When I was kid,they would have detoured to a cane field and beat us silly for talking anything close to that.

I'm guessing they were serious.

That Jefferson Parish cop got shot in the back a week before Baton Rouge.

Well I guess they have nothing to lose, A dangerous thing. I drove in BR at $1.35/mile, after they cut the rates in NOLA. Til Uber caught on people where coming to BR to drive and slashed all LA to $0.90/ mile. That's a rough section around Government street.

I found a great spreadsheet to break down things for me. Last week I drove 30 hour for $230 dollars that after taxes that ill have to pay down the line end up being a lil over $3 an hour.
