If Uber drops the rate to the same as LA we will be driving for 50 cents a kilometre :frown:$5/hour after expenses - that's definitely on the way here.
Yeah I could imagine a rate drop as part of the main course. If Uber drops the rate to the same as LA we will be driving for 50 cents a kilometre :frown:
There is a huge disparity between mileage rates, surge etc in the US depending on the market. There is very little uniformity there. One good thing that they have is extra payment on fares that you have to travel more than a certain time or distance to get to the pax and an estimate of the earnings on each trip.. Again, these sensible features are not universal. Having said that, the drivers in California cities are being treated particularly brutally.Yeah I could imagine a rate drop as part of the main course.
I do not think this one will be an issue here in AUS as Uber invoices the rider on our behalf and we have to pay GST on the full riders fare.- surge is capped for drivers meaning the customers pays full surge but the driver doesn't get full benefit
Makes you wonder, why still drive? surely there's other work out there...There is a huge disparity between mileage rates, surge etc in the US depending on the market. My recommendation is we should all do uber in a part-time base and do not take un-surged trips in a surge area. It is the time to wake upThe surge thing is already in play here. I always thought uber often take surges and don't give it to drivers. I noticed this a few times already, and while I don't chase surges, whenever I'm in the area I rarely ever get them. Out of 900 trips I've had roughly 11-12 surge trips and get like one every couple of weeks
That would be impossible, as they would then be invoicing the customer on your behalf for a larger amount, and claiming to you they paid less, meaning that not enough GST would be paid and Uber (Raiser Pacific) would be committing a criminal offence of tax evasion. This is a bit tinfoil hat.The surge thing is already in play here. I always thought uber often take surges and don't give it to drivers. They are giving you the surge, it is hidden in the flat fee they charge and will only appear separately when the rider changes the destination, adds a stop or the fare is recalculated due to time or distance being longer when applicable. The surge thing is already in play here.
