I have a theory that the driver app algorithm is factoring time on line to earnings and keeps track of all drivers earning per day . It may have a 'medium' amount and trys to prop up drivers who have a low amount of earnings .
at this point I feel like Mr Gault and co are ready to fire of advice that you should move your ass if earning are low .
so I must explain why I get to this theory .
I live on the fringe of the city limits - I've been driving uber full time for over 2 years with 10000 rides - some days I'm at home for 3-4 hours on line for $0 . That's fine I potter at home or watch tv . I drive towards Adelaide and start getting back to back trips continuously ( not always long trips ) but no waiting . At the end of the day my hourly rate is ok .
this happens regularly and is so usual that I believe in the system to prop up drivers if there earning aren't good . ?

That is a bit of a bold statement.

I support this Theory since moving to the hills I often wait 2 plus hours for 1st ping then generally back to back till the it looks decent and without having to drive strategically initially

So what we should all do is switch our apps on for 4 hours while at home and then when we drive the remaining 8 hours for the day we will be inundated with back to back jobs? Someone should conduct a scientific experiment to test this out ... they can use lab ants rather than lab rats :p
