Portland to Investigate Uber Scheme to Thwart Regulators
Officials in Portland are calling for an investigation into Uber's use of software to identify and reject hails from city code enforcers when it was operating illegally in the city.

The investigation could make public more details of Uber's anti-regulation tactics as the company is asking the state legislature to legalize its business model statewide.

A video by The Oregonian/OregonLive at the time showed code officers' ride requests repeatedly canceled, preventing attempts to fine the company and its drivers.

Uber later suspended its premature launch while the city ironed out a pilot program to allow for its business model. It launched with the city approval in 2015.

An Uber spokesman said Friday that the company has not used the software in Portland since then.

Yep Uber in trouble. Uber thinks they are great at ducking regulation around the globe, but Portland is world class at creating taxes, regulations and government employees. Expect Uber to fund a combination of the 3 in the near future.

People who can't deal with our way of doing things are free to leave.

We're pretty much feed up with out-of - state drivers (mostly California) coming here looking for their piece of gold (which is long gone now that they have 10,000 others digging for their nuggets too). They don't know the city and constantly do stupid stuff like drive the wrong way down one-way streets, illegal U-turns, etc. IOW, they drive like Californians.

SEattle has been infested by the californians too. They're so awful. Can't drive in the rain whatsoever and cause accidents all the time.
