There are 160,000 uber drivers in the country, 2 dollars a day from every driver is 320,000 a day! Imagine 4 Or 5 You must find a way to reach these drivers. everyone must stop using uber and lyft. Rip those stupid GODAMN uber and lyft stickers off your car. It's time we use our strength in numbers, kick uber and lyft to the side, create our own app, 1.75 per mile 43 cents per min, 5 dollar base rate. Well start in jersey and quickly sweep the nation, no more liquor runs taking kids to school or delivering packages and items to pax. no
working 20 hours a day only to use that money to fix your car. Create a medical and dental benefit program that can be funded through the drivers. Create a car repair program, An app for drivers by drivers.

Well call it ... Joyride !!!

Well elect a team of officials that will make the decisions. I don't need to be CEO, but it does need a leader.

Bro, you need to realize Uber is a for profit business

This is no different from Herbalife type of hussle.

I understand the taxi industry as basically killed by ride share but so has many other industries in the past. I don't understand this need that everyone driving Uber and lyft should be making 100k+ or 3$ a mile rides.

Face it, most folks using this service tend to be younger and lower income folks. You get the constant work folks but be real here, no one is going to pay 3 to 4 a mile to go to work. You'll end up with no rider demand at all. We see this when it surges... How many folks just wait it out now?

You don't need every single driver, but you need a lot of em to make a difference, I mean hey you can act like it's impossible and keep workin for nothing that's what they want, be my guest, but once they realize drivers have had enough, and there is a new alternative, then they will do what is required, imagine what would happen if every single new jersey driver logged off right now, they would panic, people are scared to shake things up

Now try to educate the noob drivers that are overjoyed to rent their cars and work for pennies. This is the biggest pressing problem. You will never get these 1st grade dropouts to join anything other than a chain gang. These simpletons will keep on working for lower and lower payouts because they don't know any better. Face it, a dollar a day beats the pay they were making back home in Ishkabibble. And if you can get a mass of 25% of the active drivers to hit the "no thanks" button, Goober will onboard another crop of nimrods and then make them proud owners of a 65% payout.

Good luck Mr Kwanzaa, your overthrow of the Goober monster will leave you with an empty feeling ( in your wallet)

It amazes me how utterly uneducated so many Uber drivers are about how this works.

Like the idiot to pick up at PNC on the $0.93 side of the parkway with no surge.
Everyone is born with a brain. That does not mean they are capable of using it, nor does it account for the lack of brain cells some models come equipped with.

If every driver... Or maybe even half of drivers...just simply hit "NO THANKS" for any request less than 2.0X, we would have instant shore rate... No need for Uber to do anything.

How can we get the message across.. "Less than 2X...NO THANKS!"
I wish it was that simple, but people don't take the time or the effort to figure this stuff out, I feel bad for the drivers who wait at the ewr lot in Newark for 2 hours only to get a fare leading into jersey city smh 9.55

I'm thinking the "No Thanks" button could easily create surge if used by drivers for that purpose.

Let's say a request hits 5 drivers, two times each at base rate. By this time the pax is waiting 2.5 minutes (15 sec x 10). Uber hates dishing out surge to the drivers, but they also hate passengers having long wait times.

Okay...so maybe 1 ant takes it at base or 1.3X and spoils the plan. However, for this to work, you don't need every driver on board...even 20% of drivers hitting no thanks to non-surge would take enough cars out of the availability pool to make a difference in making it surge more often and longer.

5 minutes for double the income if enough do it. Rince and keep repeating.

No Thanks and You're (not) welcome!

Unfortunately a very small percentage of drivers are actually aware of this forum and most in here can't agree on anything. It's a losing battle with Über. They change the rules and we all agreed to them. Learn your market and perfect your hustle; problem solved.

Ok Bernie
The guy seems to be proposing starting a cooperative company. This has zero to do with socialism or capitalism since it wouldn't be managed by the state in any way, so your analogy is flawed. In fact such a company would just be akin to a massive partnership between the owners of the capital (in this case the vehicles) and could exist fine in a free market economy.
