From the risk of some drunk female accusing you of some crap, to them putting in the wrong location, to the loud mouth belligerent jock, after 2.5 years of it I'm pretty much over the drunk bar crowd, just few stories about why......I have had a drunk chick nearly cut her self in half while leaning her body out the window talking to some guy on the curve while accidentally rolling up the window and blaming me of course......I have had a drunk lady almost successfully jump out my car while I was going 45 mph because she had to throw up.....last night was the finally straw....first off what's so hard about ordering your uber, getting in and sitting down and getting your safe ride home......last night I pull up to my pax rolled down the window to make sure it was him....then rolled the window back up just in time to hear him scream.....his finger some how managed to get caught in the window and I don't see how it wasn't cut off .....it was a horrible sight to see.....but it wasn't bleeding and he said it was okay.....I thinking it had to be broke and he may try to sue me or get me deactivated......but the million dollar question is why was his finger anywhere near the cracked window?!? What's so hard about get in and sit down????

5 pm is boringsville though. Just some guy talking on the phone "blah blah blah.. Tell him I won't do it for less than $10,000! You understand? Blah blah blah."

Probably 12 am drunks are the best. Lots of fun, not too obnoxious yet, and not too much puke.

I mostly do airport runs....a lot of phone talk about million dollar deals, but they can't spear a $2 tip....but the 2 am drunks will drive me insane.....where im at at 2 the surge is like 4.5x and goes down to 1.5 by 2:15 and it usually take 10-20 min just to find a pax who actually put in the right address and is walking to my car and getting in....they don't know nor care that they are really screwing with our money with their shenanigans....

I haven't found the 2:00am drunks to be worth it. My typical ride goes like this... surge starts a little before 2am and peaks around 2:05 to 2:10 or so. I accept at 2:10. It's takes ten minutes minimum to navigate the two blocks to the bar in all the traffic. It takes another 2-3 minutes to locate the pax. Two pax get in and say they're waiting for friends. A few minutes later three more pax jump in the car. Now it's 2:25 and I decide it's not worth bickering about the extra pax. I start the trip to find that it's a 2.5 mile ride uptown. So I put up with their screaming and hollering the whole ride as they argue about where they're going and what they're going to do when they get there and what they're going to do about food. We reach the destination and they reluctantly agree to all get out. And I collect my $10.00 surge fair. It's 2:35am and surge is gone. It's bull$hit.

Yep it's always a bit risky at bar time but typically there is a nice surge that can make a night. Lately (knock on wood) my late night rides have been very nice. Kind of a weird yet nice trend where the Pax thank me for picking them up and driving them home like I am doing them a favor. Makes it worth it if they are a bit drunk.

Personally I like the 10 pm drunks. The ones who went out for dinner and decided to have a few extra drinks. They're loosened up but not wasted. Same goes for the afternoon house party drunks who are leaving the party for the bars. (I did get one of those who was totally wasted, but ended up cancelling on them because they couldn't get their act together.)

Maybe you're choosing the wrong bars to be around. In my town the College students (short rides) go to the same 3 bars.
The longer rides (0ut of towners) go to different spots. Maybe you can get a better understanding of which bars have the better clientelle...
which are probably the pax who are taking the further rides. Usually my best ride is my last ride of the night. Could be anywhere from $27-$210.
Which usually makes the entire night worth it.

You just figured this out? Screen the ****ers until you get a long ride. Destination filter fort Worth. North won't work because uptown/smu. Never accept vip.

I will never do 2am runs again, especially in Morristown, NJ. It's a hopping bar town, so 2am, the streets are filled with drunks. One night in particular was enough for me to call it quits. They close down a street in front of the most popular bar so pax like to request rides on the street I can't get to, and they are always too drunk to know where I'm telling them to go. They always, ALWAYS try to fit 5 people in the car and I have to kick them out (happened twice this one night). Then you have the loud drunks who are screaming your ear off. Nah it's not worth it anymore, wasn't even worth the 2x Boost... I'll stick to my 7 to 12 driving the people to the bars.

This is good advice. There are different areas in my territory a bit bigger then Providence but the same idea. There is an area in Uptown where the younger crowd goes which is a nightmare and typically they aren't experienced drinkers but another part where the crowd is a bit older and easier area to pick up. Same set up in downtown. I try and get requests in those areas if possible.

I rolled the window up on a pax finger before, amazing how you cant find the button when it happens. He couldnt find it either, we took turns locking and unlocking the doors.

I did get tipped 3x for that ride. He gave $2 cash, then he tipped $5 in app, and it happened to be the tip matching day, so go $5 fron uber.
