Not just the name either. I always confirm the destination as well.

I started doing this ever since I had a situation where two guys with the same name in the same location both ordered Uber's. They were cool about it but it was a lesson learned.

I always check the destination as well. One time I went to pick up "Jessica". I see a young lady walking out. I ask her name and she says "Jessica" and she gets in. She tells me her boyfriend will be down in just a minute. Boyfriend comes down and gets in the car and off we go. A couple minutes later my phone is blowing up. Turns out "Jessica" is waiting at her apartment for me wondering why her ride has started. So I picked up the wrong "Jessica". Since then I always check the destination. Sometimes I have them verify my name as well.

So how many Chelsea's you picked up?
I picked up a Chelsea yesterday afternoon...seriously.

I pulled up to a nice hotel, and this absolutely gorgeous blond walks to my car like she owns it. She starts to get in, and I ask her name. It's not Chelsea; it's something like Aleeasee or something. She sounds German, and I'm tempted to insist that whatever she said translates to Chelsea in English.

Sadly, I find the real Chelsea -- who is nice, but... The real Chelsea has five girlfriends with her and ordered X. However, they're a fun group, it's a nice ride, and I fare-review it to XL and make an extra $13.

So -- ALWAYS ask the pax what their name is. It won't turn out bad, and it might turn out XL-ent.

Lower the window, never unlock doors until I confirm the pax name and then destination. If everything looks ok, I start the trip.
I has save me time and angry waiting riders.

I been picking up a lady that I first I suspected to be an escort. The name was different and from a male so just to make sure I told her I would text the owner of the account. He replied and confirmed and we was on the way to another hotel. Nice pax. When we got to her "appointment" she gave me a $5.00 tip. I pick her up at least 4 times after that, she will text me and I will go in front of the hotel so the ping would come to me. $5.00 tip every time but still feel a bit like a pimp.

No, you are just the driver for the Pimp. The Pimp gets a much larger percentage. Sort of like Uber?
She was staying at a hotel on the outskirts of town so most of the rides was decent 10+ and with the tip just made it better. She did told me that she uses CL to post her services so I figure she works on her own. Is been a couple of months since she last texted me, she probably left town.

I always ask for a first name and confirm the destination so it's all recorded on the dash cam before I pull away.
If they need to change their destination make sure they do it in their cell, that's another way to make sure you got the right pax, specially with rides with no drop off point.
