I have just signed up to Taxify ... they are about to launch on the Gold Coast.

Was the best sign up experience so far ... slick and where happy to answer all my questions. They will be offering incentives to the drivers as well as to riders and wont stop until they have enough riders on the GC.

As a driver it is wise to sign up to the new ride sharing companies as they will only offer these style of incentives until they are happy with their penetration in the market place.

When I signed up there where two other drivers both that have been on ubers platform for over two years and both had Euro cars :) ... looks like Uber are losing there more experienced drivers with nice cars to the competition.

When I chatted to the other drivers we all where seeing the same thing with uber and as we where all 20%ers we all noticed our incomes where low and have all noticed that there seems to be a preference for the 25%ers as we all commented on how we wait and watch other drivers come along and pick up passenger right next to us even though we where clearly the closest option for the passenger.

I actually witnessed the migration of really nice cars and experienced drivers (all above 4.9 and over 5000 trips) across to the new ride share competitors. We all said the same thing we will probably only run 2 apps and will more than likely leave Uber if the other platforms out perform Uber.

My last week on Ola I actually earned more than Uber and I did less than a third of the trips on Ola too achieve it ... more money better efficiency looks like I will only do Uber occasionally and only Select trips now just so I can keep my 20% :).

Well Nawdy the Melb. Forum dosent report well on what they now term " taxifry " , naturally they would be very plausible at this stage of entry , but wish you and others all the best .
But I guess at the end of the day there are only "X" amount of pax to go around :)

Yes I have been reading the same ... but the Gold Coast is so screwed at the moment taking advantage of incentives is a must thing too do.

At the moment it doesn't take much to out perform Uber ... well at least that's what I am seeing maybe the new drivers on 27.5% are doing better but I shall go to where the money is ... Uber have shown me as a partner no loyalty so they shall receive the same back.

So far I have had no problems with Ola and in fact have been better off for it. I would not be surprised soon to run Ola and Taxify as my main concern and just set my preference to Select on Uber ... May only get a job or two on Uber but that's all I need to keep my account active with Uber. Running three apps at once wont be easy so having less profitable jobs from Uber gone will make it easier and i'll help the Uber X drivers to receive more jobs by being out of the way :)

Uber don't want there 20%ers anyway so i'm sure they will be happy with the result :)

Yeh Nawdy I agree take the money while the promos are on .

You mention you have perused the Melb. Forum it seems to me Ola is the one they prefer , as the main contender, as there are a couple down there didn' get paid from Taxify, for minor money $ 20 or similar amount, but apart from teething problems Ola seem to be " more on the level"

On the 20% that is me , I thought we would be the first to go , not so , it still seems to be luck of the draw as to where you are positioned , I wont mention money , but yesterday Wed. shocker , today great , but today drop & pick up , it had nothing to do with ratings, or 20% fee it was simply I was in the right place at right timer.
Ok $114 my log book at the end of day told me 104K Started 7.30 fin. 11.45 am . Didn' want another job as may have ruined the $1 a K, I endlessly try to achieve with very little success :(
But while the promos are on its a good chance for drivers to make money .
When uber started I was making 80cents in the dollar , money was easy as an illegal ? No Gov. Expenses ,$ 38.40 for a 5 year DA ,
My only trouble I treated the whole caper like a w/e tourist ; I'd be in Capalaba and think wonder what's Changed at Wellington Point , turn off the app and go for a drive , have lunch ,ahh I'll go home now I'll get serious tomorrow , I never did , new golf clubs etc. How good is this caper , plenty of surge , soon as we became legal , " THE END " to many drivers , now to many rideshare
But
"Always look on the bright side of life"
Can anyone hear music!:)

Good on you Nawdy, that's great!!

Had one chap tell me he is using the free $20 then back to Uber.
You should let people know Uber drivers are also Ola drivers. Some people won't use Ola purely because it's an Indian company.

Oh he knew. I had both stickers on the window. Some ppl just don't like change from what they know.
Actually most people just love a freebie :) ... I am actually seeing a few things about Ola's app that make it better than Ubers now as a rider ... There notification of the driver arriving is better and the customer is always close or there when i get them with all the trips I have done on Ola so far.

I had two Uber customers jump in my car yesterday and actually apologize for not being outside as the notification didn't work on the uber rider app and they both showed me on there phone. My car was right on top of there location on there app and it still said I was two minutes away even though on my app it was saying it had notified them and it was actually charging wait time (I always ring after the 2 minutes) Ubers app stuffs up for the rider more often than we as driver know.

I haven't had that problem with Ola yet and believe it or not there are die hard Ola users now that swear by Ola over Uber as there app works better and their fares seem to be cheaper. I had an Ola user from Perth in my car on holidays here and he said Ola are becoming the choice of regular users in Perth as they are saving money and the app doesn't stuff up as much.

All I can see is that the app is less polished however it works ... and the regular users of ride share will notice this and I think they will change ... I am seeing a real difference myself and I am surprised that there are actually more benefits for the rider than just a cheaper price.

I haven't tried Taxifies app yet as they are not available on the Gold Coast but I will and I am keen to see how their overall product performs compared to Ola and Ubers Apps as well ... so far Ola has grown on me and I like it more than Ubers App nowo_O ... I didn't expect that I just thought it was about price.

So far Reliability Ola's app is better from my experiences on an android phone. I feel for the I-phone brigade as it looks like that Ola's app sucks on that platform. Maybe apple users will go for Uber as it is pretty and android users will go for Ola as it just seems to work like a tool should :p sorry couldn't help but have a little fun at apple peeps ;).
