Read it again and you will understand what they want.
A. Rules against what Uber says they need to operate.
B. Rules for Uber to operate under Tappxi.
Both their scenarios are no go for Uber.
Yupp, and to do all these things Uber would have to give up pricing control.

Not happening.

I don't read it that way at all. The way I read it, it would be up to the TNC driver when and if they choose to have any particular app on, and accept calls from, just like we currently do as dual Uber/Lyft drivers. They are simply saying, hey, Uber doesn't think the current rules are tenable, but we have no problem with them. So we are more than happy to come in and set up shop under the currently passed TNC framework and if Uber wants to come in and play, they are more than welcome and they can offer themselves as another TNC alternative source for any and all of the drivers that we have already set up for work with Taxxpi and Enova.

If a driver was set up through one of those two companies and then accepted an Uber request, that would be all under Uber's control at that point including Uber's pricing. It would be no different than if a Lyft driver decided to also sign up with Uber and then take an Uber call. Lyft would have no control over Uber or their pricing.

These local companies are simply calling Uber's bluff on the idea that the current regs are "onerous". Good for them. Disrupting the grand disrupter.

Under this model costs have to go up. Commercial insurance, workmens compensation are not cheap and completely unfeasable with Ubers rates.

Then of course those companies have to make a profit.

Who or how does all this get paid?

No way in Hell will Uber give up so much control.

They seem to be able to survive and prosper in NYC with that kind of framework, and I believe that Vegas will have similar requirements, they seem to have their tail still wagging for that market.

Yes but from what I've read the pay is higher in NYC.

Uber Suckers like me will apriciate if broward and dade county free us from being working at 95 c a mile . Uber is slavery company and sooner or later will go down as fast as they went up! A company based on lies , dont pay their drivers fair share can only go down! Wait when drivers get upset when uber goes into accounts and sustract money how they did to me a few times . Double check your staments sucker dont let this thief steal from you the way they did to me. The $ 5 cancelation fee the put it and then take it awaybfrom you. They give honey away for riders then the mose trap is set . When you agree with terms and conditions of the app they can do whaterer they want with you. Suckers out there dont let them fool you.

Their arguments sound pretty good until you consider insurance. They have cars insured all day and night and different drivers use them . I drive my own car and nobody else is going to drive it. Even though some drivers would like to be full time Uber drivers and make a lot of $, Uber is set up for part time drivers.

It's great the taxi's want to use apps so their riders can track them, pay them, and rate them. From the feedback I get from my Pax, they think taxis all have broken air conditioners, are dirty, driven by non-English speaking smelly drivers. If 50% of them get bad ratings, what will the taxi companies do then?

And, the cost of doing business, the right way.
I find it interesting that Uber says on one hand that paying for proper vetting, regulation and commercial insurance amounts to an "onerous burden" that "stifles innovation" and makes it impossible to do business there, while on the other hand they agree to DO ALL THAT in NYC, set their rates accordingly higher so that the drivers can still make money, and then brag that their NYC UberX drivers are making more money than in any other city in the US.

It seems to me that the only reason Uber would be afraid of raising rates to support the cost of doing things right would be the potential loss of business, but it seems at least in NYC the customers are still Ubering enough that Uber wants to put another 10,000 drivers out there.

My opinion is that the pricing sensitivity will not be an issue as long as the ride is even slightly less than taxi rates because of the many other advantages that Uber offers over taxi, including the heavily promoted mantra that "tipping is not necessary".

Apparently these other companies in Broward county have figured that out and are planning to take advantage of the new vacuum in the market created by Uber's political gamesmanship. The question the government will be forced to ask Uber is, if these little companies can happily survive and prosper in this regulatory framework then why can't YOU? Why, if you are so much bigger and better funded than they are? Why do YOU think you need "special treatment" in order to compete?

Uber is blazing trails for other smaller, smarter companies to come in and take over that market.

The biggest difference between NYC and SFL is here everyone owns a car, they want to make it easier to leave it at home and take an Uber. In NYC most people don't own a car, it isn't a very car friendly city so slightly less than a taxi is less than they normally pay.
