So... Got a ping to pickup from residence. Go there, see a bunch of people in lawn chairs, they see me, no response. Cancelled. Number 1.
Going down the road, get a ping again, same place, thinking what is the worse that can happen, I return.
Lady comes out, tells me her husband requested first, and passed out. Would I mind giving a hand loading him? Sure. Number 2.
Start Ride, during ride husband wakes up, starts belittling his wife for some error made during party. Now is a full on argument, screaming at each other. I move to pull over to shoulder and evict. Husband pulls a knife shoves in wife's face. I pull my pistol, he jerks back away from me and clocks his head against door glass. Knocks himself clean out.
Ensured wife is okay, asked what she wants to do. Told to just take him home, couple more miles. Get there, and she asks help to drag his butt up into the yard. Done.
Asks if I can take her to friends house. Tell her she will need to order another ride, I just ended (number 2).
She requests, and since I am in drive, I get it. Start #3. We are talking, this is apparent the final straw and she is leaving him. Tell her that if not returning, we can't leave guy in yard. Go back home, she wakes up neighbor, neighbor drags inside house. Resume trip.
Get to her friends house, she has been talking on phone. End ride, help her to house and tell her I have video footage if she needs it. (made copy of it today). She says yes, I will mail disk to her office address and will preserve memory card. Talked for a few minutes, friend tells her if she has any money. Nope.
Start Ride 4,wife and friend, going to 4 different banks as she pulls max out of accounts. Took her back to friends house. Ladies asked to turn radio up so they can talk.
Help lady out of truck (yeah, she is still shaking), friend helps her to front door. Friend comes back out, asks if I am okay and I told her yes, it has been an unusual night. Asked me to park pickup so they can talk to me for a few minutes. Not feeling any ill will, I do so. Talked to friend about what happened, what I did, etc. Says it is just what wife told her. Asked about dashcam, yup I have entire exchange. Asked why I did what I did, told her that would do for anyone.
Wife comes up behind me, grabs me and starts kissing all over. Friend goes to pickup and puts something in door. I forgot to look, was distracted.
Wife is about same age as me, friend is much younger, and both want me to come back sometime for dinner.
Hmm. They probably won't remember. Won't happen.
Got a call from Driver Support, apparently clothing was left in my vehicle by a rider. I go and look, there is a pair of panties pushed deep in the seat pocket by door.
Now I have name, address, and phone number. Definitely a strange night, and more than made up for the rain out Friday night.
