SURPRISE - SURPRISE Uber Quest Based on Earnings not the number of Trips

Yup Yup.. Uber found a way to screw you more....
Quests based on earnings is a ruse at best.
They are designed to make you drive more.
Since each fare is a differing dollar amount it takes longer with more trips to get to the selected Quest dollar amount.
Thus Uber dangles a carrot and you stay out in the field longer.
It benefits Uber more than you the driver.
A driver will have to accept trips up to the full 12 hour limit each quest day to get it.
Good Luck completing ... How's that driver fatigue?

It's a cost saving for Uber. oH and they control the fare amount you get.

I have said in several other posts, that Uber wants you to chase dollars per hour not dollars per mile, and the way they have changed the quest proves that, and who mostly chases dollars per hour, EV drivers and rental car drivers.

Wow! How'd you find this out?
Wow! How'd you find this out?
I was got voluntold to "test" it.
I forgot they're doing this to you guys now. I don't do rideshare, just delivery. They still give us that "bonus for completing X number of trips" bullshit.
Two things that are reprehensible about this is, the fact they are paying you with money they have stolen from you. In most cases now, they are taking at least 50% of the fare amount they are charging pax.

And even more importantly, they are in charge of the ride requests you get. They KNOW when you are getting to within 80% of the quest dollars needed... how many good money making ride requests do you think you will get? And if you aren't in a super busy area, good luck getting any ride requests when you are close to finishing quest. And if you think LAX will bail you out, get ready for those MDR requests.

Uber is nothing but the scum of the earth. And pax are starting to figure this out too.

ALL Quests are designed to make you drive more. Look at all the garbage trips drivers accept in order to reach a particular number of trips in order to get their Quests.

The reason for the change is that drivers are AVOIDING medium and long trips due to their terrible pay and the fact that medium and long trips are Quest killers.

Uber is gambling that short rides will continue to find takers even though taking short rides will make Quests more difficult to achieve.

Nat121 we all know the company's horrible. But you seem always angry with them here.
I understand this.but as a 9 year driver' find something else or don't seem so mad. In 9 years once a raise from $.74 cents a mile to $1.01 cut back. They are 100 % takers not givers.
Find a happy medium or quit. How old are you. I am 60.
Your in d.c right.??
Maybe do different shifts. Just saying as uber won't and don't live in my head rent free. Never..
I prefer it this way. I feel the other system penalized drivers too much for doing long rides.

EDIT: I should clarify that I like this concept better, however I do firmly believe that they’re fixing the game against drivers and are going to do what they have to do to make reaching the goal a much harsher challenge than it ever should be.

Yep. I am experiencing this very thing right now, feeling as though they are subtly doing what they have to do to make sure I don’t reach my incentive.

Wow looking at this really makes me angry, if you do the math they're only offering a measly 5%, this not even cover the gas to do the trips assuming you're driving a gas car, and even if you have an EV unless you have a charging system at your home the 5% will still barely cover the energy costs and stated above all they're basically doing is giving back part of the money they already robbed from us.

Is this incentive exposed to entice me to do longer trips, not happening it's not enough money.

It’s a scam in the highest degree. I met the quest but it took 11 more rides than the other way. I could have hit the second tier the other way. It’s designed to get you to say, “I’ll take rides under my threshold of $x per mile because it will equal out after I catch the carrot”. I still get my minimum per mile but the streets here are absolutely flooded with idiot ants taking everything to get that carrot. I made half the money this week as I was making. I’m at the point of trying to get kicked off the app.

Quests don't make you drive more. Choose the Quest that you can complete in the hours you want to drive. No one is making you pick the top Quest level

Quests don't make you drive more.
Now that Uber has cut the base rate in most markets, soon to be all markets, you will have to drive more to complete quests and earn your "bonus".

Very interesting, so you're saying you have never ever ever did a few extra trips to complete a quest that you wouldn't have normally done if it wasn't for trying to complete, you're saying you never ever completed done a few short low ball paying trips to complete a quest, I call BS, and under the new system now you may be forced to do a long trip that may pay $40 and going 60 miles just so you can have the money earn to complete that Quest.

Actually, you're not being forced to do anything. What you are being is manipulated into accepting quests in the first place. They make you think your earning more money, when in reality you're not. They're getting free labor out of you.

Yep, the quest is now set up that they just hold a piece of what you should have made on a trip and they will “reward” you with it if you hit a goal.

My market now has more drivers than ever before making less than they ever have because they chase the carrot.
