So there has been little to no UberX available for about the last half hour, Dallas typically surges around 3 PM and 4 PM on a regular basis downtown, but I noticed sometimes it's like they just turn it off completely. That is the case today, if you turn your app on you get back to back pings from all over uptown and downtown and you can barely get app turned back off before they kick you off. Does this also happened to coincide with the fact that lyft appears to have lowered their rate? I don't drive with them a whole lot but I noticed today that the two trips I took were $.50 less net then I usually get. Base fare $4 Lyft, $5 Uberx, i'm a little confused on that respect. Also, Uber select surging, one other car available no requests. EVEN Lyft has been showing Primetime

Yes. That's what happened about 25 min later. X had shown no surge anywhere in DFW for over an hour.

I have had to power my phone off then back on when I don't notice a surge anywhere for awhile. Also been kicked off for not accepting rides and I have not received any pings. Powering off/on seems to work also.

you know how to spot a fake surge? Turn your app off, and start driving towards the surge (only if it's nearby though, never "chase" surge at great distances) and while your driver app is in offline mode, watch it fade away as you get closer to original hot spot (middle). as soon as you're a block or two away, it'll be gone. Go online, get instant non-surge ping (usually). F Uber! #LyftON
