I agree that there are alot of drivers. But how is surge only 1.2X between 12am and 2am on a Friday night

I know that.Boss, I feel your pain. I said it before and I will say it again. Uber does not give a &%[email protected]!* about drivers, they Don't see you as a person, you and all drivers are only a number.
But why cap surge?? And why leave it capped?
Come on guys, complain to Uber to remove the 1.6X cap. Doing nothing won't help

yep. they gave me a BS response. Ubering is a LOSS. Lets see if the IRS goes after them.I'm starting to think this 1.6x cap is gonna be permanent. Also what I find interesting are the differences in Uber quote on non surge rides for the exact same route. I set MCO as a drop off from my house and the quote changes from $25 to $36 throughout the day without any surges. You guys try it out and see for yourself.

That's crazy! we could get a tropical storm every month. I see gas prices going up and down and there is no freezeI'm pretty sure it has to do with state of emergency the governor placed on all of Florida last week/week before because of the tropical storm.
I do not remember the specifics but it has something to do with anti-price gouging laws. I believe the cap will be in effect for 30 days...
