I've stopped driving for U/L since last week because of this same reason. There's no way to keep a safe distance from whoever is getting into my car. Some people just don't have a concept of personal hygiene. I really hope U/L will temporarily suspend service here as well.

That's one way to do it. There's more than one way to scale back operations
Here Discount Cab was the leading cab company. They responded to Uber, by doing everything that they did bad, even worse!
Vouchers was always their baby. So they split the company in two, got the vouchers turned to a company called Veyo, turned that into an Uber-like dispatch system.
And then the self-pay customer base, they raised drivers rates, introduced per trip fees, raised customer prices, and had the most dysfunctional dispatch I've ever heard of.
Eventually they outsource their dispatch to the Philippines I believe. Which is ludicrous.
It turned into a company called Totalride. Best way to describe that is literally the worst of everything Uber, combined with the worst of everything Taxi.
Basically, they ran the company into the ground. All the while, they were blaming Uber for their failures.
