Plug in the pickup address and drop off address in that link. I guarantee you that that poor little ole PAX you feel so sorry for would have paid even more money if they ordered a Real Taxi.

i never said i feel sorry for the passenger. i am on select. select passengers ( the ones that i have had so far) are honestly really down to earth, real cool people that i really enjoy having. They tip good, they respect my car and never have had any issues. this is just my exp and i speak for no one else but me. what i meant is seeing how uber treats its people, i was just venting on how i get irritated by seeing that amount go to them. ill def check that link out though.

Granted as a driver I realize thats by far anywhere near consistent. With exceptions to passengers that have to pay it- who the hell complains about making $118/hr?

first of all, his cut was probably more like $60/hour. Travel time to pick up and waiting for ping. Secondly, the miles out on car could have been 40 miles counting deadheading etc. Since this was a select, I'm guessing the cost per mile for maintenance, depreciation and gas to be at least $.35/mile! So I would put the hourly at no more than $46/hour. If he waited longer for ping, it would be a lot less.

Maybe mistakes by an idiot new driver, but this driver strikes me as more intelligent than that.

Big difference between net and gross income. Just pointing out both sides can have skewed numbers and the truth is somewhere in the middle. I drive selective hours (20-30/wk) and avg $600 or $20-30hr on uberX. And just a heads up depending on electricity costs, my cmax energi gets the first 27 miles at about $ .01/mile and .06/mile on gas thereafter. It is almost nothing. Even considering other expenses, you should get one if you partake in rideshare.
