Drivers in San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Washington DC will turn off the app on 8 May. A separate protest will be held outside Uber's head office in San Francisco on the same day... looked on BBC site and found this..

I moved out of Auburn last fall and just been dabbling in my new area. Its nothing to write home about here. And enjoying my mini-farm too much to drive 60 miles to seattle. But I still do 10-15 rides/mo just to make tequila $! ?

The articles on this strike sure have a lot of smug and sneering assholes in the comments, claiming a 'living wage' is unneeded as rideshare is only meant to be supplemental work. Bet they'd say the same about taxis.
