when In uber there is no way I park in a driveway, half these imbeciles don't even know how to drop the pin in the right place, turning up and just parking your private vehicle in some random angry tattoed bogans, possibly with meth induced paranoia, driveway out of the blue isn't always going to go well.

I always pick up on street. Sometimes I drop off on the driveway apron, especially if I intend to return the same way I came along their street. One time I did turn into a driveway one dark morning as I had to clear the road on a narrow, car congested street in Gardenvale, the little $hit of a pax whinged my headlights woke up his sleeping wife. No apology or explanation was accepted so in the end I told him for short trips (to the train station FFS) pax should be waiting ready on the street.

As a general rule for early morning pickups I park the car on the street directly outside of the house, get out and greet the pax by opening the door and putting their luggage in the boot for them.
I have never dropped/picked someone up in their driveway nor had any complaints.
I feel the pax you had was having a bad morning, nothing more
You cant keep everyone happy 100% of the time.

should have cancelled when he said he was late for his flight. I had one call while driving to the pickup, I answered and before I could even say a greeting. He just said "Where are you", I just replied and said I'm on my way as you can see from the app. He goes, hurry up, I am very late for my flight. I just said sure, then cancel the trip.
I am not going to be the punching bag if they miss the flight, get caught up at tulla roadworks or any other delay on the way. Let some other ant deal with him.

Wherever pax contact you and surge is less than 2.5 just cancel it.
