Was driving my Ford Mondeo to a garage for repairs but got stopped by the police on the way. They said I have a broken tail light and front tyre needed replacing - I pointed out to them I am on way way to garage to get them fixed. They took my details and signature and that;s it.

Any one know the procedure from here on? Do i get the Letter where I have to take it for inspection or something else?

Define front tyre needing replacing?

In my opinion that is a tyre that is about to hit 1.6mm.

To others that might mean a tyre that was at 1.6mm 3 weeks ago with a huge bald section on the inside edge.

Remember that a tyre must have visible tread over the entire width, with 1.6mm in the central 3/4's.

Though the most likely reason they took your details is because they get told the same story every day, if they come across you in a weeks time with the same tyre and same broken light then things will be different because you have lied previously.

The Police treat everybody the same and give people the benefit of the doubt an awful lot in my experience.

The attitude test is also part of what affects the Coppers decision process on giving you the benefit of the doubt or not.

If you had got out your phone and started filming and antagonising the Police this would likely be a thread about how the Feds were harassing me innit and the results of the Traffic Officer turning up and giving your car a once over.

As you have fixed the problems there will be nothing done.

Though if the same Copper does pull you over for something in the future the fact you where honest will make your life easier as the Copper will know you are honest and don't take the mickey.

Not true , totally depends on what sorta mood the officer is in, plus if they have proof.

Not with my experience of working alongside the Police on a daily basis.

The attitude of the person stopped is always relevant.

The Police wouldn't stop somebody without good reason these days.
I'm not saying they stop people without good reason .
I'm talking about the "attitude test " u mentioned , that's not true in my experience , as you know previously I have stated I lock my doors , the 3 times that I have locked my door I have been delt with a quick check and on my way within 3-5 mins .
All 3 times I have done something wrong , once didn't have my lights on , another did a Amber light ,and lastly overtook under cover police on inside lane at 33m/h which was the reason for being stopped .all three times I locked my door, handed my drivers license out the window and told them to do what they need to do. I have stopped doing this now as my luck may be out

I am not biased but the police have the right to stop anyone they like in most cases a minicab drivers and for silly reasons
They don't ever stop a right hand drive romanian plate cars and we all know it was stolen in the UK and registered in Romania then comes back to the UK to avoid paying insurance tax and parking

They don't ever stop a dark skin teenager in a tinted glass 3 doors hatchback and we all know they do that to use mobile phones

They don't ever stop 8 wheelers truck drivers driving like big Dinasours between small cars just because they are from the same skin colour

BC

And I have a big list I can put it here if you like

Yes. We had apps and data dispatch technology before Uber was even thought of. For example, Comcab (computer cab for those too thick to realise) was founded in 1974. What we didnt have was an American tax avoiding company utilizing slave labour and a multi billion dollar budget, which could buy politicians and bend the law in order to operate, ensuring that their shareholders get very rich, but their drivers work for peanuts and have to claim tax credits because they are working below minimum wage. Hope this helps.

And their attitude reflects usually attitude of person being pulled over.
Believe me when I tell you this, how some people speak to the Police would boggle your mind.

I used to enjoy turning up when one of these "bad boys" was crying like a baby.

Maybe the reason a minority of people hate Police is because they realise that if all Police disappeared the World would be a worse place.

You could get rid of all the Scrotes, bad boy yoof etc etc.

And 99% of the population wouldn't give a toss.

Normal passengers will still prefer uber and minicabs until you guys are wiped off completely
