I've never seen the prices be so similar on both x and stool. Anyone else notice this? Why would a passenger deal with the headache of stool for only a discount of a dollar ?

Correct (ish). Same mileage rate, lower time rate. Intra-Seattle Pools are a huge difference, but also the longer the pool is, the more the time multiplyer starts to add up. A pool airport run from Seattle is several dollars less than a normal AP run. There's an equilibrium where the difference is smaller, but it's always less. If it gets matched, the car is tied up at a lower rate for longer, so it's eating into later profits.A week and a half ago I was quoted $12 for uber and $6 for pool for a trip as a PAX. I think shorter trips have a big gap but the longer the trip the more the gap closes
I don't doubt it. I have no doubts that Uber (and Lyft) use upfront pricing to manipulate rider usage in all sorts of ways. Uber may want to increase pool usage among Redmond denizens, and know there are enough ants around to meet any increased demand, and therefore makes those rates extra cheap. Get them in the habit, as someone else mentioned above. From SKC they might not be so interested in increasing Pool demand, for whatever reason. I'm not pretending to know U/L's motivations for anything, but I don't think they're consistent.redmond to north seattle was 27 stool, 57 x.
I was thinking this exact same thing and was just about to amend my post. Thanks.the price on Pool depends on the likelihood of connecting to another pax on that trip/route at that time of day.
Take the Pool, Slap your driver for accepting it, get out, Order X...Actually....Take SelectI'm about to go pick up my car and here are the difference in rates right now.

X is more than 260% of the cost of a Pool.
I'll take the X because I'm a driver, but it's awful hard to blame Pool riders for choosing Pool when the prices are so vastly different.
True. From where I live very few destinations provide a Pool option. It's pretty much the airport, downtown Seattle, major shopping centers, etc. Forget Fred Meyer or the transit center. Bellevue Square? $ 52.95X, $ 50.30 Pool. Pool doesn't allowAlso remember, when you're out of the city and get a Pool req. it usually means a longer trip, in most cases into Seattle. Pax app won't let you do Pool in SKC, to SKC. So if you're desperate enough to try to get back into Seattle...
I just take line rides as a passenger (if time isn't critical) because they don't screw the driver over (as badly)I'm about to go pick up my car and here are the difference in rates right now.

Yep. I've never used poop or line but if I needed a shared ride, would order a line for that reason.I just take line rides as a passenger (if time isn't critical) because they don't screw the driver over (as badly)
