I have a question. I have been driving in St Louis since opening weekend, however is Uber legal in St. Charles? I noticed that the app to call a ride will not work in St. Charles City or County, but will if you are in St. Peters, O'Fallon, or Wentzville city limits.

Are they waiting for approval or is St. Charles and St. Charles County parts now up and running too?

Thanks.

So, I'm not sure why, but I was playing with the rider app today dropping pins to see where Uber X was running and it seems the Missouri river is the cut off line for Uber X right now. It's all Uber Black west of the river.

I have seen the map turn orange for St. Charles several times. I have even sat out here in St. Charles waiting for a fare. I haven't gotten one yet out here but the app did let me sit out here waiting for a pax. I think the issue now is that hardly any drivers sit out here so hardly any pax use Uber out in St. Charles yet. I do know from the news paper article that Uber is approved for St. Charles. I haven't seen the map change for St. Peters and the newspaper didn't mention St. Peters so I have no idea about that.

I contacted Uber and read up on St Charles press releases on Uber. It is only open for Black. St Charles WILL be allowing Uber X, but maybe not until the St Louis lawsuits are settled. You can drop, but not pick up west of the river.

The way to check this is turn on Uber driver app, then turn on Uber pax app. Your car won't show and Uber Black is the only option.

Is there a n update on this? I go online with Uber drive and open Uber and it doesn't show any uber drivers even though I'm right there.

There is nothing to update. The house passed the Uber bill in March, the Senate did not vote on it before the session ended in late May and they went home. They'll have to start over from scratch when they convene next January, and even if they pass something next spring, it won't take effect until next August, 2017, so we will continue to dodge that gold Impala for another year...at least.

Here is the map that shows where your UberX driver's app will work, excluding the airport:

https://www.uber.com/cities/st-louis/

(I don't drive Uber Black, but from what I understand, if you do, the app will work at the A/P, but not in St Charles county.)

Two tiny glitches make it a bit easier to PU in both. People CAN drop a pin at the MetroLink Station at the A/P and on a sand bar on the west side of the MO river just north of I-70, which comes up as 1 Ameristar Blvd, then call you to tell you where they really are, if they are somewhere else at the A/P or in St Charles County. Alternatively, they can drop that pin ANYwhere else and make the same phone call. I have had no problem starting trips in St Charles county, no matter where I pick them up. :)

On the Rider's app, I see Uber X cars staged in St Charles waiting for pings. One is usually in Time Center apts, one a bit farther down 94, one up on the north side, near New Town, plus a few others less consistently. I assume they wait at home for pings, and I assume they get them, as I see them disappear more frequently than just logging off would indicate.

Well now that St Charles County is now open to Uber and Lyft..,, that's great!!!

However..,. Neither one of their apps work!!!

Uber keeps knocking me off and changes my car to a blue arrow icon. Thus.. no rides!!

Lyft says there is no connectivity! Hmong!

I have tried EVERYTHING they they have recommended for these issues. NONE of them has worked!!

I'd LOVE to start driving.... but without the apps....

Thank you Cindy!! I must be having trouble with my app. I still have not gotten 1 ping.

I went into St Louis City a few days ago and sat down there for 4 hours and still did not get 1 ping.

I'm feeling really frustrated! It's been several weeks and I still haven't gotten my first ride!!

Do you have problems with your app dropping your car icon and a blue arrow taking its place?

No, but it may be your phone or carrier. Some work with Uber better than others.

Have you been staging in St Charles the rest of the time, or just today? And do you get kicked off when running other apps, like FB?
