Checking out the competition in Pickering yesterday. Order UberX at Home Depot. Getting to Home Depot was great - 5-star driver. Getting back was a polar opposite experience. This is why I like the driver rating system - hopefully Uber actually does deactivate low-rated drivers and not just give a slap on the wrist. It was a terrible experience. 4 minute ETA turned into 13 minutes. I watched the guy on the rider app go in every direction except my direction. Finally he arrives, he's holding his phone in his hand, can't string 2 words of English together, blames all his screwups on his phone (by pointing at it and shrugging), and that's only AFTER I ask him what's up. If I didn't say anything it would have been silent in the car. Sets the phone on his passenger seat while he drives me back. Constantly looking away from the road to look at his phone. Nice. If he did that with my daughter in the car I'd f-n pound him into the ground. Then again he goes in all the wrong directions. I had to direct him turn by turn to get back. People blowing their horns at us all along the way. WHAT A GONG SHOW.

-Before becoming an Uber driver, please learn the difference between East/West, North/South. This isn't rocket science.

-Before becoming an Uber driver in Canada, please learn to speak our language.

-If you're an Uber driver and you took more than triple the time you should have to pickup your passenger and more than double the time you should have to drop him off, you write that ride off and don't charge the rider!

This 4.20 star potato got 1 star from me. I think he was 4.20 stars because he partook in too many 4:20 sessions :) The 1st guy got 5-stars and 5 bucks cash for my 6 minute drive.

I hope Uber weeds out the clowns so the rest of us can make some decent income, and so we don't all look like complete idiots.

I don't understand people. Phone mounts cost like five bucks, and I've been told Uber even gives them out for FREE. So dangerous to look completely away from the road like that.

I have some empathy for new residents in downtown, but there's no excuse somewhere like Pickering, lol.

I still remember when I tried Uber as a passenger for the fist time a couple of years ago. I was an immediate convert because of how much better the cars and drivers were than taxis. I haven't ridden as a pax in a while, but I'm bummed to keep hearing it's going downhill. I'm starting to understand why some people seem so impressed when I give them a simple efficient ride from A to B in a clean car.

You want to work in the service industry serving Canadians? You do it in English or French, unless your customer speaks your foreign language too. Please and thank you.

I have no idea what you're talking about re: gender.
I was making fun of the silly hate speech laws in your province, and soon to be in your country. Relax.

What's the problem? The whole ordeal from ping acceptance to drop off should have taken <10 minutes. The ride cost me $10. I'd be happy to do that all day long as a driver.
Because Home Depot isn't just picking up pax. It's loading up your trunk with heavy garbage before taking the pax home for $5. (yes, your ten dollar fare is 5.65 to most drivers). Then unloading all the garbage again. Loading takes 2 minutes, unloading another 2. Driving you there is definitely alright. I'm sorry you prefer to do these rides all day, business must be slow.

Home1 depot sucks , only 4.2 driver can do that favour to rider to pick up his shit , most of these Home Depot and Walmart riders don't appreciate drivers effort, his mount have broken that day , give the driver little bit margin of error , i m sure he has a mount but got lost or broken at that time , it happens man to best of the drivers too

There was no loading or unloading, and even if there was it wouldn't be nearly 4 minutes worth. You drive Uber with an E450 Cube Van? lol

Extrapolate those numbers out and you got approx $34/hr if you were steady. Plus you remain close to home with NO bobtailing.

BTW, your disdain for your customers comes through loud and clear by way of your characterization of their possessions as "garbage".

I still think you're a 1st-class azzhole who doesn't belong in business. But good luck just the same.

I'll give you that, Harry. But IMO he should have visited the nearest BestBuy up for a replacement before going back to work. Yes, I consider it that important. The joker had to literally look sideways and backwards a little to see his phone. That prick risked my life to make a profit for himself.

Only hating on grocery store customers. Your hourly calculations there does not include time it takes to get a ping and the time it takes for you to drive to the ping too.

BTW I agree with your point of view on this horrible driver. I was just pointing out that the good ones would not have accepted your ping to pick you up. You might not have a load of stuff, but most people coming out from home Depot / Walmart / no frills have a ton of stuff. It's 95% short distance trips because their stores are spread out everywhere across the gta.

I completely agree that quality of uber drivers have gone down , especially downtown, but only uber has to blame for it, uber allow driver of low rating for their greed of money, why blame driver for it as he is complying to all prerequisites and u have option to cancel the low rated driver and request again

What a piece of shit, unreal. 0 excuse in Pickering.

Wait until the forum tells you that you should not expect a guy with masters in English and a great driver because uber pays little. I see Harry is already protecting this excuse of a driver.
