Ladies and gentleman,
Some info for any seasoned driver or any future ants considering becoming a rideshare slave. If you work any night, naturally assume you will pick up at least three of these disgusting drunk animals from Uber or Lyft.
*Have a dashcam that records inside the car, the front of the vehicle and the back. Just in case any of these creatures decides to accuse you of sexual assault or some other crime.
*Do not carry aux cables, charging chords or anything they can plug their personal devices into. I personally use an LG G5, which uses USB type c. That is the only chord I carry and I do not let anyone connect to my car.
*If picking up from a bar, do not give drunk riders an extra second of time. Once the time is up, drive off and collect the fee.
*If they are visibly drunk, immediately cancel before they get in. Make sure to follow up with lyft/uber that rider attempted to bring alcohol into car which is illegal.
*Do not carry water, mints, food etc for these morons. At these rates, you have to be a true moron to offer these things. Most do not tip and this do not deserve excellent service. Keep it barebones. Also, they may accuse you of drugging them.
*Always rate drunk/tipsy riders 1 star. No matter how nice they are, rate drunk riders one star! Even if they tip. Rate them 1 star! The reason for this, they have entered our vehicles with additional risk to the driver. Right off the bat, they are a risk to the driver and platform.
*If they leave anything behind in the car, never return it no matter what. If it's a phone, turn it off and remove the sim card. Always consider it a spoil of war. I have kept iPhone, Samsung devices, laptop's, wallets, cash, hats, tablets, purses etc. I never return lost items even after I immediately drive off. No matter how nice the rider was. If they are drunk, this rule becomes iron clad. For mobile devices, turn off the device and remove sim card.
*Do not let anyone into your car with any substance or open drink. If they are holding something, drive off and cancel. If they open it in your car, collect a cleaning fee. Always rate 1 star no matter what.
By following these rules, we take back control of this platform. We FHV drivers are not chauffeurs and we are not baby sitters. We are being abused by lyft and Uber. They have turned us into servants. If you are drunk and need a safe ride. Either pay a premium or take public transport. Drink riders are too much of a liability and never tip. So why bother.
