Just flicking through the topics here, there sure are a lot of angry posts from people who simply seem to have not 'gotten over it' and seem intent on doing nothing but scream shrilly.
Putting it bluntly -**** Off.
There are a lot of good things about uber, I love it - if you are thick enough to be caught by being obvious, suck it up, its obviously illegal as any simple google search will tell you.
I'm a contractor, my prius is paid for and abn,gst etc, etc
I have a lot of work, its my bread and butter, the uber stuff is just jam on the top.
Dont want to pick up drunks? hang out in a outer suburb and turn offline when in town late fri/sat
I make over $100 a night now simply by picking folks up in wynnum and dropping them in town.
I saw a moron driver tonight, uber app glowing on screen in plain view- keep it down low, dont make it easy for the pigs.
common sense people, makes me wonder about all the haters, perhaps they didnt have any.

Shimrod - doesn't wynnum have a rail station ? Or is our rate even cheaper than a train ticket ? Lol - I don't work much on the east side so what is an average wynnum (say central) to valley ride cost - total to rider -
I get you have a plan that works for you but as you said it is just cream - if every driver moved to your system (which I know they won't) then how do all of the riders get home at the end of the night ? It would be great for surge !!lol

If you don't have anything positive to say or any experience would suggest you button it until the 'L' plates are off the Prius . How does that work for you anyway ? Must be an ex yellow taxi if you paid for it - what $3000 at most ?

The people you are calling out as "shills" are not even close to that. They would be anti-shills if such a thing exists, but on this forum anti-shills are better known as taxi drivers or fishy's.
Honestly, happy Uber is working for you. If it works for you, then by all means keep doing it. The general consensus is that it doesn't work for most - no need to abuse those who say it doesn't work and the figures don't add up - chances are those people, myself included have given Uber more than a fair shot and have probably done hundreds if not thousands of more trips than you.
My my -all the abuse from the haters...interesting , almost as if they have nothing to do but sit behind a desk and spew anti - uber vitriol on forums..fishy indeed.
