I will happily admit I am so green you would think im an alien! I really would appreciate so advice though to a few questions.

1) Is there any way to see how busy it is without "Going Online" in the app? Even in the app, I am not sure what to look for?

2) I have been classed as UBER X and XL. Is there a way to only get XL calls? Also, how do you get chosen for SELECT? Is a 2014 Tahoe a qualifying vehicle?

3) I am paranoid with someone barfing! Do you carry Barf bags and if so, where do you get them? Then if the unmentioned were to happen, what do you do to clean that mess and smell up?

4) Is it possible to have 2 cars on your account and if so, how? My wife has a smaller Verano and was maybe thinking of using that if mine was in service.

I do know I am asking a lot but any help would to the above questions would be gratefully received.

1. Look at the Uber passenger app. Looking at the Lyft passenger app also provides good information.

2. I don't know on X vs. XL. A list of acceptable Select vehicles by city is available online if you look for it.

3. A good barf bag is a grocery bag with some paper towels in the bottom. A wet dry vac and an ozone machine should take care of any vomit incidents. Just drive slowly and watch the turns and it should reduce the risk a lot.

4. Register both vehicles and log on with the one you want to drive that day/night.

If you wanna do it for fun, you can avoid working the hours and locations where barf is most commom.

You have a very nice vehicle.
If you come across the cheap pax who try to stuff more than 4 passengers ina uber x. You can either take them and notify uber to get the difference in price. Or if you don't like them say sorry they ordered the wrong car and to request again an xl. Don't take them.
This works better yo u keep your car locked until youare sure you want the passengers to boar.

Keeping it locked also helps you deal with people trying to bring drinks in your car. I personally do not even talk to them if i see drinks coming my way. I cancel and leave. Unless I'm picking up someone that looks mature froma house or a couple, i tell them that I'm sorry and deibks are not allowed. And judge based on their reaction.
Oh. School is about to start. Do not pickup from smu. Or maybe pickup some fares from there so you can see why i said that.

Have fun,
Just Drive...many thanks. That information was very enlightening. Not sure I understand the SMU thing but based on what you have already said, I will heed your warning and steer clear. You certainly have a lot more experience than I do.

SMU fares are horrible, the riders are mostly horrible, and the UP Police like to write you bullshit tickets such as parking in front of a fire hydrant while you are dropping passengers off etc. In two years of driving in DFW, I cannot think of an area that is as consistently bad as SMU. Not even uptown.
I have so far had no problem with the SMU area. I do seem to find most of my business around Greenville Ave and/or Mckinney Ave, on weekend nights.

You can stay extremely busy at those times in those locations, but you must consider it as hazard pay. The congested streets, drunk passengers as well as drunk drivers and pedestrians, the negative impact on your ratings from idiots, and the hungry rookie cops that can now identify you from your windshield sticker are all factors that you should consider.
Thank you to all who replied. All advice and helpful comments are gratefully received. Stay safe
Man I tried XL with my 2014 Traverse was a joke, I switched to my car, Wasn't enough XL calls in my opinion of course. Depending on your mileage it wasn't worth to run my suv into the ground for 5 buck rides.

You are learning fast. That's good.

Uber X isn't going to be any better.

Yeah I drive XL as well, it's good for a nice 90$ wedding party or prom fare from time to time, but the rates for XL in DFW were gutted even worse than the X rates.
Use XL on the weekends only. You will save on gas. Stick to the hot spots. If it's slow, stay home and don't waste your time. You can have the app on at home (keep keys and shoes nearby).
Use your personality to network and find a real job. You're basically a taxi driver and that's not a glamorous or profitable position. You will tire of this quickly, pace yourself . You're beating up your car for companies gains. And those gains you will never see.
If you get into a car accident you are NOT an uber driver! Your insurance will drop you in a heart beat and you will be flagged!
Save all receipts and mileage from the moment you leave. It will be a tax nightmare so be ready for that.
Goooooood luck:p
