I am an active member of about 5 different and diverse forums - I guess difficult to compare one to another.
Most of the forums contain both negative and positive posts.
I agree that there is a huge amount of negativity on this particular board compared to others.
But that IMHO says a massive amount about Uber.

Some of you are so negative that I know you are not Uber drivers. The passengers would have bounced you in a heartbeat. In fact no idea how you live at home. Some people are real drivers while some are complete trolls. So let me be the first to say get a life and stfu. Go get a life, shower and get a job. Stop harassing real working people.

Im alongside drivers each time I go out. They are everywhere. Let me tell you they are happy with the money they can get from Uber. Its chickenshit to sit here on a board complaining all day. If you really dont like it leave and let someone else drive for Uber. You can go drive a yellow taxi or try your hand at a car service in the boros instead stinking up this place.

"They are happy with the money yhey can get from Uber" This statement is misleading at best because those brand new Camrys and Suburbans aren't paying being paid off by themselves; the drivers have to slave off for 5 yrs to pay off these loans. How long have you been doing this gig? That blaring optimism and Uber jerking will pass in a couple of weeks, believe me. A job where at the end of the day you clear anywhere from $10-15/hr clean is not really something worthy of aspiring to...

Finally a post complaining about complainers. I haven't seen that for quite a while. Interesting how things change but yet stay the same.
Last year this forum had a few racist anti-immigrant types complaining that drivers that can't speak English are taking over their lucrative Uber gig. Today we have racist immigrant type insulting the racist anti-immigrant types for not being as hard working as he (thinks) he is.

We are all making 1000 bucks plus a week and don't want to encourage others to join UBER. We are selfish jerks! LoL just keep driving after 1000 trips you will start to turn to the dark side. You are obviously still in the honeymoon stage of this career: Around 2000 trips you will be looking to divorce this job from your life. However, some of us are locked in and really just want UBER to appreciate the partners that stick it out for years upon years. We are the ones that care and keep our ratings high!

The word clean is in only listed once in my Standard Industry Term (SIT) list under the section VII subheading A43.2.61 as follows:
"The vehicle shall be clean before and during transporting passengers."
That's the only reference to the word clean I can find in my SIT list. My SIT is dated March 2007, is there a newer version?
Try looking up NYC TLC rule 15.4b in the drivers handbook dated May 1967. If you do not have this book, it can be purchases at E Bay. You can also go to TLC headquarters at 19 Rector St. In Manhatten,, I am sure they would be happy to help you. It can also be found in the Owners Handbook not sure of the date.

You do realize that rates have gone down considerably.In CT it was ,1.50 per mile.Now it's 1.10 a mile.I am sure it will go down to 90 cents soon.I suppose YOU will drive at that rare as well.
