As we all know, on September 1, 2015, the BC Commissioners are set to let Uber go with some newest rules on TNC.

More like the countdown to the extinction of taxi cabs!!The only countdown i see is Uber left out due to mistreating its partners!
El capitan i used to think like you also wanted the taxi to be in the brink of extincion so taxi companys will stop manipulating medallions and rasing leases now that are many players in the game . For now i can tell you that taxi companys are treating people a little better offer me a lease so i can back on my feet since uber let me down. The dainassours will only desapear is there is a true ice age , but Uber based on lies and abuses will only make the cabies stronger in wanting to bring more money home at the end thats all i care about to provide for my family.More like the countdown to the extinction of taxi cabs!!

From the Agenda, it seems they are only going to discuss Terms and Agreement about TNC's limit of liability imposed by the TNCs.

It was interesting that the last meeting, 8/11, ended with a vote of 5-4 in favor of proceeding with the new ordinance. Yesterday's meeting ended with a 6-3 vote in favor.
I also thought it was clever (thinking outside the box) of the taxi supporters to get their point across in a 20-30 minute speach, instead of 2 minutes, by using 10-15 consecutive speakers making the same point with a continuous story. Because some of these speakers stuttered/paused with their reading, it was obvious they hadn't written it. They were straws for someone else.

In a perfect world but with the fighting with lyft to gain traction I don't see them raising rates. Lyft has been gaining, I used to go hours without a lyft ping now both are fairly consistent. I had more lyft than Uber rides Tuesday and more Uber yesterday.Taxis will be pretty much out of business a year from now, and uber will then raise rates. Not so hard to foresee.

There will always be a need for taxis especially as there are so many tourists here in Miami. What will people without credit cards, smart phones or data plans do? I still don't know how Uber handles the ADA issue.
