I've been doing this for a while now and yes, I am aware how bad Summers are for food delivery. However, in Austin, you expect me to believe nobody is ordering passed 15 minutes and when I do get a order, it's 10 miles out just to pick up? What is really going on Uuuubs?!

I just did a drive back home which took roughly 30 minutes and left my app on. Not a single hit and I drove through areas with restaurants...seems like Uber is possibly for a funny thing to say....shadow banning certain drivers. I can believe it as Uber can be very petty. Question is that is this only unique to a few of us or is this everyone?
I stopped doing food delivery the moment the bottom dropped out in my market after covid and the offers were in the $2 and $3 range.

I do not believe Uber is shadow banning, even though I do believe they still do that. Here is the thing. I think your ratings and stats mean something now, in regards to the automatic dispatch system.

For example, my rating is 97 and my cancellation rating is 19%. I am someone who used to get over 400 points per month and now I may get 20 if I am lucky because I just do not do it anymore.

As an experiment, I have sat outside and across the street from a particularly busy food place I used to pick up from often that I know only works with Uber. Drivers are showing up all day long and in and out. My app is on for an hour. I get one offer to pickup 12 miles away to take farther away for between $5 to $6. I stop in the restaurant and say hello to the staff since they kind of know me. I asked them if they signed up for DD or GH or anyone else. They said nope still just UE. Interesting.

The week after, I grabbed some lunch in between clients and sat and ate lunch in my car, while online with Uber, near a very popular breakfast place I also used to pick up from that I know for a fact also only used Uber. Same deal. I counted seven, maybe eight, drivers roll in, pick up, and left. So... again, I went in to say hi and to order a bagel. We got to talking and asked them the same question. They said they still only use Uber Eats because DD has been trash for them.

That whole time I was there, the app was quiet. I left it online after I left heading to another client and I got an offer sent for $4.35 picking up over 15 minutes away from where I was and I am sure the order was super small.

So yes, something obviously is going on. 🙄

Yesterday was one of the busiest days that I have had since early 2021. There was a short lull between lunch and dinner, but once the dinner rush started it was go, go, go non-stop until a little after midnight. Haven't seen that in a while.
After midnight?? Man I miss working those days where I start up around 4am in the city then make my way into the suburbs during breakfast then work non stop into the evening, then head back to the city until the bottom drops out and work until 2am. Then sleep for two to three hours and do it all over again.

Was good money back then. Now I would not waste my time. They can take their $3 and $4 consecutive offers and my consecutive declines and they can shove them up their butt.

It has got a little bit better and I think Football season will boost it up. Uber also resorting to pettiness now. Now they're sending drivers on wild goose chase and sending dummy orders. Resturants been claiming more and more they don't see it so its either them or Uber. Uber also turning delivery into "package" which if you cancel for any reason, they count cancelation per item instead of the whole order. Apparently, excessive time no longer gets a pass even if you wait 3 minutes or more.
I actually opted out of both grocery and package orders.

Took over a month to keep on them until it was done but it is done. I only get food orders now, which is what I wanted. However, with the reduced compensation, it is almost not even worth it to turn on the app anyway since i reject a majority of what they send me. I am thankful I have other income and not rely on this heavily anymore. I feel sorry for anyone that does.
