Shortest Trip Ever

760 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Adieu
I get a ping for a pick up in Hollywood. I am near Franklin and Highland during rush hour which seems to be 24/7 in that part of town. They are 3 min away but from the spot I am in, there is no quick and easy way to get to their location. They call me and I assure them I am on the way. At one point, I thought about canceling the trip but I am a cat of my word and eventually I roll up to a family of three with tons of luggage. I get out of my car and the Pax points to the end the of block and tells me that is where they are going. My smile conceals the frustration of fighting traffic for 20 minutes to be given an opportunity to earn three dollars and change. Then there is the issue of the luggage. A load like that was better suited for a mini van than a small economy car. How am I going to fit the three pax and all those bags into my car? After 15 minutes and several thought bubbles that contain language not fit for this chat board, I stuffed the last bag into my car and slowly crept up the street. All I could imagine is my little car saying "I think I can, I think I can."

I get it, he didn't want to drag all the luggage up the hill.

That said, he should have tipped $10.00 for the work,
I feel for you it's rather annoying picking up more than 2 people heading to the airport with luggage. Like really order a uber plus or suv.

I had a trip so short on Saturday night (less then a block on Sunset Blvd) that the App said 'Trip too short, unable to Complete" and gave me the Option to Cancel, only. I just drove another block after the 3 ladies in heels got out for 1 Oak and the app then allowed me to End Trip.

Months ago I got a ping in Sierra Madrs - arrived at the Father's house, instructed to take the kids home, gave me a $5 tip and off we went - about 150 yards up the street to their house. Couldn't walk up the street after breakfast.

Nah thats legal custody or divorce evidence crap.... He needed it documented by someone so he went with time-stamped trip report that shows he was timely and considerate about following his custody terms...

And/or documenting that seeing his kids and yet following the restraining orders between him and ex spouse is easily accomplished in this day and age
