picked up a 3.6x surge this morning, after dropoff I check earnings and the surge wasn't even 2.0x on the receipt. Needless to say I contacted uber and complained, told them it wasn't the first time they've done this and that I have every instance documented. I also shamed them on their unethical business practice. Waiting for a response now. Pretty mad about this one.

Screenshot? You should screenshot all surge pings. Did it actually read 3.6 next to pax rating or just on the circle screen?

Unfortunately only on the circle screen, and it was a pool ping. The only reason I accepted was because it was 3.6
Just because it shows 3.6 and red on the circle screen doesn't mean anything.

It could be a base fare ping that has been floating around or a rebound ping from another driver canceling.

Always look at pax rating and surge multiplier

When I accepted the ride, I checked it couple of times in an app , it was a pool, 5 star rider, with x 3.5 surge. And only the reason I did accepted it was that freaking surg. I never had this happened before, didn't even think to screenshot it. This thing is frustrating me. Waiting for response to switch to lyft only. I'm done with this unfair stuff.

And Lyft won't even come close to telling you what their 'surge' is....good luck.

Something similar happened to me. I got a 3.2 pool request and when I accepted it I think I got instantly reassigned to a closer rider at a lower surge. Happened so quick I didn't realize until I got to pax. Another reason to stay away from poo.

I was in Santa Monica in the middle of a surge. Nothing shows up on the request. Not even the boost. I accepted thinking maybe there's a glitch and it'll show when I open the tab. Sure enough, it was just the crummy boost so I canceled. Get a request immediately which was a few blocks away from the previous address and this was showing the actual surge. Nice try Uber, but i'm not falling for that!

Misunderstanding, but the surge was 3.6 on the screen under the address. Not in the middle of the circle. I never go by the middle of the circle. I go by what it actually says by the address.

I got a few 3x rides this morning and all were accurate. I definitely avoided a few pings that showed deep red but only listed the boost.

Not sure how they can argue it, but just keep following up until someone finally gives you the right payout. I loathe interacting with their customer service.
