I remember when we used to get two TV channels on a good day and having to go outside to turn the antenna while my Dad yelled instructions through the window.

These days, some part of the internet goes down for five minutes and people piss their pants like it's the freaking zombie apocalypse.
We were doing that (yelling through the window) while adjusting our directv antenna one day when one of us remembered WE HAVE CELL PHONES! LOL

I remember when I was a kid we didn't have ANY phone and we would have to walk or bike down the street and KNOCK ON OUR FRIEND'S DOOR!

THE HORROR!

We had a Party Line and a neighbor that was always on the phone. Most of you will have to Google that.
When we finally got a phone it was that. Had to be careful what you said. We had a nosy neighbor who would like to listen in. The way ours worked was you would pick up the phone and just ask them to let you use it. But she would pick up and just listen and hope you didn't notice.

No VCR, no cable, 3 TV channels, (one only on half the day)-- (on a black and white TV with one remote--me!), no microwave, no calculators.

How did we survive?

We must be right about the same age. I can remember when Houston got its 4th TV station. I think it was channel 33. I to was our family's remote control, and would get yelled at if I turned the dial too fast. Good times.

I grew up in England. We had BBC1, BBC2 and ITV. BBC2 was mostly educational and only on in the morning. I think Channel 4 started about 2 or 3 years after we moved. My grandmother was SO excited about it!

When we moved here there was ABC, NBC and CBS and 2 VHS channels that always "snowed"(26 and 39?). So 5 in total. That was in 1978 in Galveston. So you may be a little older? I'm 50. Was 13 then.

Some youngun' is wondering what I mean by the TV "snowing".

No DVR, had Sears Catalog instead of Amazon, a hot car did 0-60 in 7.0 seconds. Jarts.

I was on a 25 minute trip and when I dropped PAX off it wouldn't let me close the trip - error note came up and I tried several times then it told me to log off.....logged back on and that trip didn't show up. Still hasn't shown up. I've emailed UBER and had a response "go to your online dashboard and click "Trips" on the left-hand side. Click on the correct trip from the list, and the ID will be at the top of the page. Or kindly provide the date and time. ...."

How can I get a trip ID when the trip isn't showing. I've emailed back the same information in my original email that had the PAX's name, date and time and locations of pickup and drop off.....haven't heard - it still isn't showing up. Hate to say it, however I'm glad to know it just wasn't me.

I also am waiting for payment. I gave them until this morning to see if it would fix itself (it didn't), and then I emailed them about 10 hours ago. They responded saying they needed more info (even though all the info they asked for was in my original email).

I'm not angry yet, as I'm sure they have many, many similar cases to deal with. But I hope it's fixed for payday.
