While drivers are considered "independent contractors", Uber does have real employees. You may have read in recent new articles that a lot of them are very, very unhappy. They have found a way to tell their stories without fear of consequences. Read the article and the comments. To post using the App you must be a verified employee.

How would the app know for certain that they're an employee?? That doesn't even make sense . . .
You need to be "verified" as an employee by a current employee with power to verify for a particular company. There is a virtual "verification room" for each company (like Uber) that has a presence on the Blind App.

I think you're misunderstanding this. A company like Uber can block employees' access to a website through it's own systems. So you can't view it when working on one of their computers, or using their corporate wifi.

This is commonly done to prevent workers from accessing inappropriate sites at the workplace.
