Lyft doesn't tell you if it is a prime time ride before you accept it.
This is why I only drive Lyft now during power zones as if PT is higher it will display the PT amount (before I'd drive almost never due to lack of PT on request). If they want me to drive more show the PT on all requests. I'm a PT/Surge/Boost only driver. Regular rates are not worth it to me unless its $2-3 per ride trip incentive, one which i can reasonably attain with only UberX/Lyft regular requests. Until the per min rate for pool/line is at least $0.20 pool/line is for those who don't care about making $20-25/hr+ after uber/lyft como and gas. And also with at least $1.50 made per total miles driven.

Same thing happen over and over with me . It's up to that point where u just laugh about it in frustration. Other day I was sitting on surge by Tufts in Medford and I got tons of ping from Charlestown , Waltham , Brookline, all over the place and all those trips request was pool. Check out my acceptance rate.

Your more likely getting these pings from far away because your acceptance rate sucks (not a bad thing) I find when I deny pings from 10+ min away after a few denies I'll get a uberx or poo that is under my 7 min rule of thumb ride. Do you drive a lot of hours per week or strictly pt?

I mostly drive only if there is surge. Couple of hours morning rush hour and couple of hours evening rush hours. I don't even bother to drive in morning if there is no surge at all. 10 minutes ; u should b kidding me. My pick up policy is ; 5 minutes without surge and 7 mins maximum if it's with decent surge.

Making up stories about Uber's algorithm doesn't make it true...

Im so mad. Im falling for the lyft BS too. Its pink all around no pings for like 5 minutes. Then i get a ping and its no PT. Ended up 4 rides for $20 before i gave up.
Dude don't let Lyft outsmart you, you should have a separate phone with [F]Uber rider app AND Lyft rider app, if you are online with Lyft and there's PT in your spot make sure that on your secondary phone you have the Lyft rider app open and the pin right on top of your location a bit zoomed out, once you get a ping on the driver app quickly see the general area of the ping and go on the rider app on the other phone and move the pin to that general area and click on "request lyft" then tap on "skip" (on the right of the screen) and it will display in the new box that opens up how much PT is in that area where you moved the pin to (aka where the request is coming from).

I know it sounds a bit annoying to do this, but once you get the hang of it Lyft will never be able to screw you by accepting pings from areas where there's either no PT or the PT is like 25% and you are sitting on a 300% PT area.

I do this all the time and never get screwed.

[F]Uber and Lyft play games with us, so we master the game and play them instead...
