3AW rumour that Uber drivers will blockade the airport one day this week, and the taxis will too. Didn't say which day, but if I was a gambler, I'd think Friday arvo would create max effect.

Last October I was told by uber worker the only reason we aren't picking up from the airport was because they didn't have anywhere for us to pickup from I told her why not put us st the end of the arrivals where Jetstar used to be there's plenty of space there for pickups, it's nearly march and we still aren't legitimately picking up from the airport

Better for Uber drivers if taxis do it my themselves. Better chance of being allowed into the airport sooner. The more that taxis mis-behave, the easier it is for Melbourne Airport do a deal with FUber.
No different than a working class peasant in ww1 shootin at other working class peasants who just happen to be on the other side.

In your case you are just fighting to maintain low wages and poor working conditions by continously sniping at your fellow peasants across the lines .

Maybe you should wake up and see who the real enemy is..

I'd say its the people that have set rates at pretty much poverty levels , after taking out expenses.

If uber drivers stop being such muppets themselves and join in with some strike action to gain better rates then everyone wins

Hi hard - you can edit your own post if you need to change anything ( I do it all the time)

Re AP and Uber.
I always thought it was to give Uberblack an advantage. They use a virtual car park off site and pick up at tame car rental sites.
Uber will never get access to that Jeststar site - the taxi drivers would burn down the AP. It would also disrupt the entire layout and flow of the AP.

Why should UBER drivers fight for UBER to make more money, let them fight their own battles. Who is going to pay you for your time whilst fighting for an $80billion company. Stuff them, there's nothing in it for me, I would t block the airport. Anyway, I think it will counter productive, more pax will hate UBER more than they already do. UBER driver are now seen as the desperate under feeders.

Airport get $3 per taxi/vha/uber black pick up.

Uber will get airport rights when the airport works out how to get the $3 pick up fee off them.
Are you sure that the AP gets $3 from Uber Black?

Last time I checked this out UB was waiting outside the AP for a ping in a virtual car park. Not waiting in AP area. They were not picking up at roadside but using car rental car park withing the car park building.

I got a fare yesterday 2 minutes after I had left the airport with a pickup address of Arrival Drive, Tullamarine Airport. I got off the freeway at Mickleham Rd and went back to the airport. Picked them up in front of Park Royal in the arrivals lane. They said they just walked to Park Royal and requested an uber as per normal - no moving pins or typing in an address away from airport. Although on base rates took them to Monash Uni so a good round trip.
If app works normally there tell your passengers and we might start getting more return trips from the airport.

FUber won't protect us if we pick up at the airport because FUber tells us as soon as we start that we can't pick up from there. Canary incited officialdom can write tickets whenever they please - it's quite obvious what goes on outside the Park Royal.
