People who use ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft will have to pay an extra six-percent on their ride under the new tax bill.

Some Uber drivers think that's unfair to low-income riders. Dave Lorenz says most of the people he drives don't own cars and need rides to work.

He believes a six percent increase to their fare could become a financial burden. Uber driver Jesse Gavin says the tax bill will hurt certain Iowans when it was supposed to be good for all.

"It seems like the governor, and maybe some of the other republicans, made a calculated decision of who they're going to balance that tax cut on, and it's people in more urban parts of the state," said Gavin.

An Uber spokesperson says the decision is unfortunate and will impact people who count on their drivers for affordable transportation.
