Over the last couple of months I've had 3 different passengers make requests for me to deliver items, instead of giving them a ride.

Twice it was a set of keys and another time luggage to the airport (Shady AF)!
Anyway, I cancelled them on each occasion and told them I'm not a delivery service & to call a task rabbit.

Yesterday the guy (that asked me to deliver keys to a friend) got pissed when I said no and said " you're the worst at your job!" And "good luck being an uber for your job!

Anyone else come across this scenario and how have you handled it?

Ya I've delivered keys a couple times before, I just made sure they were aware that I needed the person receiving them would be ready so I didn't have to park my car. Nothing wrong with that.. r-right?

Also I would've declined on the luggage
That's the thing, I don't want to deal with parking, finding other person to deliver keys etc. We do not make enough for that crap- and it's not the service we provide. Call post mates or task rabbit. This guy wants to use uber because he can get away w low balling.

I can understand the frustration if you reach the other side and fail to connect with the person or delivering a bag to the airport ?! seems reasonable to decline lol

I always say yes to these requests though :) but no way I'm delivering a stupid bag to the airport lmao

Yep. I do the same. Unless a cash gratuity is paid ahead of time.

Well that's awesome.

It also depends on how nicely ppl ask. I transport kids & the elderly/disabled all the time (helping them in and out of the car). Id like to think I'm a nice person. I just can't stand cheap, entitled jerks.
So here is another issue , I get a ping with surge / I get there and it's a kid heading to school ! now if I cancel I miss out on boost completely cause it's now 9am so I ended up giving the kid a ride.

For people like me who aren't comfortable with underage pax ,do you report to Uber ? I don't do it cause it's admitting guilty lol but other than 1* what's there to do in cases like this

Last week I took a nice, polite and quiet envelope on a pool ride with boost, took the front seat. Owner was curb ready downtown. No problem. Luggage- I'd have to sense it was a legit delivery but most likely would give it a ride.

You guys realize you have a phone right? You can call these people and negotiate the deal to go down however you see fit. If they don't want to play ball THEN cancel. But put your salesman pants on first. These kind of propositions are the perfect time to negotiate a tip and make some money off the books.

I love returning cellphones and running weird deliveries for customers. I make more money off people using my charger and forgetting their stupid phone. Want to hear a PAX squirm? Tell them you just got a ride out of the city, but you'll be happy to leave their possessions at some random Uber Hub the following business day.

But airport luggage? Lol no way. I don't want to end up on the evening news for $20.
