Thanks Shock, link repaired now
Pings are pretty rare at Coolangatta Airport, anyway. Usually a long wait. But we should be able to park nearby. And nonchalantly roll up to pax waiting at Arrival pickup zone.
Uber drivers banned from Gold Coast Airport at Gold Coast Cabs' request

Was a matter of time, BNE has become a joke! A full pick up lane of empty uber cars waiting clogging up genuine traffic actually picking people up.
Had to laugh reading that article. Uber drivers don't have to do knowledge test. 90% of Taxi driver wouldn't pass such a test

Please stop with the gross generalisations. As an experienced Uber driver you of course know where Yugar, Buccan, St Johns Wood, Lota and Newport are ? Don't you ? With over 600 potential drop off suburbs in the greater Brisbane area it is no surprise that some drivers don't know every street - apparently the the knowledge test concentrates on hospitals etc so again I ask can you take me to Caboolture, Redcliffe, NorthWest Private or the Brisbane Private hospital without a GPS ?? Oh to be as good as some uberites think they are ...
Any other generalisations out there ?

Airport queue at BNE, thats a game changer! No more jerks holding up or continually circling the imediate pick up lane LOL

Does that happen often - I thought most drivers were waiting out of sight - no wonder BAC is getting pissed off - they said to me the other day that every Uber pickup is $3.40 they loose and these cars keep blocking the pickup areas - come on guys , we should do better

Drivers were increasingly brazen at BNE, I've walked the immediate pick up lane and counted close to 20 uber cars in the lane on one occasion. Now there will be no need for drivers snaking pick ups from being directly in the lane LOL

I'd suspect airport pick ups have become a hot topic for DTMR and BNE corp with increasing compliance, hence the implement of the virtual airport queue in an attempt to suppress the loitering in the lane nuisance. Uber and its drivers were becoming an obvious annoyance at airports.

It was a matter of time before BAC cracked the shits because they make so much money from the taxi's that queue there. Seriously, were Uber drivers really circling the block trying to get pick ups? F*$K that. I've done a few airport pick ups, and they are a pain in the arse because you need to call the pax to find out where they are waiting. It's a right nightmare trying to spot someone waving you down and hoping you can pull over near them.

This new queuing solution is a step in the right direction, but with the current shit fight between Uber & the Qld Government, it will be like shooting fish in a barrel for the TMR to follow and bust Uber drivers at the airport.

And when Uber is legislated? There will be no more of this crap from BAC I assure you, Uber will have to pay the $3.40 and rightly so.

Still jokers at BNE circling the p/u lane, check the app as it's realtime now with lag and no ghost cars. Do you think they didn't get the memo or just plain ignorant?
Without trying to start another Taxi V Uber war, I reckon I lot of the Uber drivers hanging out near the airport would be ex-taxi drivers looking for the long fares. Airport is more trouble than it is worth IMO. But if they haven't seen the memo from Uber about airport pickups, suck shit for wasting fuel doing circles of the block.

Have you been circling? LOL

Uber have a virtual queue at BNE, first into the purple zone (anywhere) - first out (with ping). Example; you can be the first or only car into the airport zone and park at DFO then a second car can enter the zone and go straight to the terminal and continual circling or loiter in the pick up lane, in this case the car at DFO will get the ping first.
