I absolutely hate hearing about this stuff. Let's not forget at one time these companies actually paid a fair amount and there was surge 24/7. People were happy to pay the price and they'd still be happy to pay a fair price but these scumbags at Uber & Lyft figured out a way to make it more profitable for them to charge less to the rider at the expense of the driver at every turn.
Take this shit ride to SD, NEGOTIATE FOR SOME CASH MONEY, and then pick up some locals for a while but just for gas money and I think it's fun to see neighborhoods you're not familiar with. Good luck getting a ride back tho. You'll have to deadmile back to orange county. Once you get to San Clemente turn the app back on and hope for the best. Nobody goes south from San Clemente so you'll be able to work your way back
There have always been shyt rides.
Do you remember when you had no information where the pax was going only to find out it was a $2.15 shortie?
In the past most of the surge rides were less than 5 miles and you had to hope you got the one ride that made it worthwhile.
Before UFP the best way to make money was to wait for the longer rides. Now the long rides are shyt but there are other rides that can be profitable.
We all have to adapt.
The smart drivers can still make money.
Of course driving to SD for $123 in not one of them.
