Some dipstick lost his keys in my car. I found them and proceeded to make efforts to return them to the rider. I looked all over the driver app.to start the process. Nothing. Waited for uber to reach out to me which they did with a text to me at3:45am. They gave me the # of the passenger so I reached out told him I would drop his property off in a couple hours. He was very greatful. Then I reached out to uber about being compensated for my time and expense. CRICKETS. And they wonder why they can't get drivers back on the road.

I love how Uber’s support options are completely useless. The issues I have are never listed, and it’s so hard to contact them about anything not listed. And calling support is worthless. I always get the guy that doesn’t speak English, but can kind of read the words in English on the computer screen in front of him. When he can’t understand my issue, he tells me he’s going to escalate my concern to a team of specialists... which means, after about 2 weeks I’ll forget all about it.

I had two items left in my car this weekend. A phone and a fancy cigar lighter. Phone was returned. Cigar lighter has gone unreported as I have no idea who left it and when. Made that mistake once and Uber sent my phone number two the last 20+ rides I gave saying they may have left something behind. What a huge pain in the butt. Will never do that again.

It's actually mind numbing regarding the support drivers get. Any issue I may have someone from a foreign country that barely speaks English puts me on hold tries to find the page in the driver manual that best describes my issue and reads it to me. Never Even close to my issue. If Uber were to ever record my in car rage I would be deactivated. Lol.

No offense, but I can hear this pax saying to his buddies:
“some dipstick found my keys in his car, and actually wasted his time returning them, for free!
I got the money, but it was a royal pain in the ass. Never Again.

Well the cell phone that was left in my car Saturday Night was returned Sunday morning. PAX was out standing on the side of the road along my route. I stopped, handed him the phone, he handed me cash, I figured we were good.

Yesterday around lunch time I get a follow up message from Uber regarding the phone. They wanted to know if I returned it. I typed a message back saying phone was returned Sunday morning. About 3 hours later I get $15 added to my account labeled Lost Item Return. I never requested the fee and had no intentions of hitting the PAX with the fee, after all he made the return very easy and gave me cash. Oh well I'll probably get down rated when he sees he was charged a fee.

He may have been a deepstick for leaving his keys, but you're also a deepstick who didn't scope out your vehicle before you took off to see if he dropped anything. Cause at whatever hour, it happens, frequently. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

What should be a simple process gets so twisted up. If it weren't for the fact that I want see the rider get his or her property back, I would just throw it out the window and be done with it.

10, 000 rides 4.98 rating you better jump off this ride.
Quantity means nothing vs Quality. You can be all day all night awesome when the passenger experiences their ride with you but it doesn't speak to your level of care and responsibility for what goes on beyond what you perceive your job to be.
